Why the discrepancy in the Casino's neck width?

I have read about the nut width being from 1.68 wide too 1.62 wide from 1 11/16 to 1 9/16 wide...this from several supposed trustworthy sources! All the casino's I have measured are 1.62 and 1 9/16 wide at the nut, even the epiphone website lists it different...

Does the Casino come in different neck widths...??

Well, I don't know....I doubt so, "officially"...but, my 1966 Kalamazoo made Casino is the 1 9/16" version.

Don't know what it's "supposed" to be, but...that's what it IS. I would "guess" it might depend on where it

was made, when...and/or even who was doing the measuring/scupting, and/or what day it was? LOL!

Epiphone would have it's ideal, no doubt, but how strictly that's adhered to, in hand made/finished necks/nuts...???

It just seems a little weird that the epiphone company does not know the width of their own necks...? BTW there is only one other guitar that I have found that has as slim a neck as the Casino and that is a Fender Mustang...(from what I have read)...if you can believe what you read...!

Picking up another guitar now after playing the Casino is like grabbing hold of a 4x4 post...I wish I had of known long ago how slim these necks were...=D>

Actually, I'm sure they DO know what their Casino neck is "supposed" to be...they designed it, after all.

But, when you have guitars being made in several different factories, in several different countries,

over the last 39 years...there's bound to be some differences, here and there. It was another reason,

I'm sure, for having a "dedicated factory" (as in Qingdao), for the manufacturing of Epiphone (only) guitars.

A lot easier to keep track of the specs, and to do periodic inspections, to keep things better on track, that

way. Hopefully, that's exactly what will happen...seems like (so far, anyway) that's the way they're

headed. And yeah, every time someone picks up my Casino, it's like pulling teeth, to get them to put

it down. LOL! If they're your "cup of tea," they're really hard to beat!

Do you know how long I have been looking for a guitar with a neck like a Casino...?#-o I would of never guessed by the info on the epiphone website as it is described as your run of the mill "necks"...:-k

For a player with average sized hands the Casino is a god send...Gibson can have their ES-330 with it's 1 11/16 wide neck, give me the Casino anyday! :-k

My 2003 MIK Casino measures 1 9/16" width at the nut with a non-precision measuring tape. Hey dubstar' date=' good to hear someone else has a lefty; I'm wondering if yours was the last year they made them.[/quote']

mine was definitely the last year, as epiphone customer service helped me track down where the last few were shipped...it's

in this thread:

Don't know what the reason for the different sizes are, but I for one luv how fast these necks are very much like the 70s Fender 7.5 D profile necks found on the older teles and strats.........the neck was huge in winning me over!=D>

Could this possibly be partially because of metric conversions in overseas factories?

I have two Peerless made Casino's and they both are 1 9/16 at the nut...The original Kalamazoo made Casino has the same measurement at the nut...

I have not seen a Casino with a wider nut then 1 9/16...[-(

Good Guess though...

I owned a Casino and played a bunch hoping to find a "wider" neck as mine was too narrow and I ended up regrettably selling it. I now have a Riviera that has the same darn skinny neck. The only other guitars I have played (I am sure there are more) that were that skinny was the Ric.
