stevesemo
Hi y'all. My first post. Got my first MIJ casino recently and loved it so much looking for more already. I spotted this on ebay...I'm sure you guys keep an eye on there too. This looks Korean spec...did they make a replica in this year...with a certificate of authenticity? and if they did is it really an accurate copy in the sense that the revolution MIJ is. Haven't got my glasses on so can't see exactly where the neck joins. anyway any thoughts http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Epiphone-Casino-John-Lennon-Revolution-replica_W0QQitemZ140297456701QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV?hash=item140297456701&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1688|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318
duane v
It's not an accurate copy at all..... the neck isnt set in far enough, and no doubt the electronics arent the upgraded type....
pohatu771
It's not a Revolution... it was made in December 1996 at Peerless, Korea. Someone took the pickguard off and added the black grommet (which is too large), and printed up their own certificate of authenticity based on pictures of a real one. It's a half-hour job with any basic imaging software. There's nothing wrong with doing that to your own Casino, but trying to sell it and not mention that you did it yourself is a bit jerk-y. He does say that it is a replica of the Revolution, but then goes on to use the product description of the "real" Revolution.
IntelligentAl
It is probably a real Casino, but nothing more. No way is that a Revolution, so I would definately avoid it.
Charles Obscure
It's a "Replicution"!
bluelake07
The ad should be rewritten to read: I have the original pickguard and fraudulent certificate of authenticity which will be supplied.
JohnMcClane5000
Why would he want to print a fake certificate? Every half intelligent person with a tiny bit of interest in guitars knows, that this isn't a "real" Revolution but a normal Casino with black gomet on it... I mean.. a real revolution guitar has a dry finish, satin as some call it... this is glossy... I would have sold it without the fake certificate (which is mentioned as "replicated" certificate) cause it's a 90's epiphone.. no need to hide anything ---> Great guitar anyway!
