TWilson
They had one of those in excellent condition at McKenzie River Music in Eugene, Oregon. I can't remember the price or if it was even for sale. It was pretty interesting looking and very old.
rscott4079
These come up now and again on Ebay etc. There's another one that was listed over at the UMGF. I've never played one, but I heard that despite the striking appearance they don't sound very good. Here's a picture of bluesman Big Bill Broonzy with his:
Modac
If you're looking for an old. early Gibson archtop, it could be a find----though the refinish is disturbing. They sound fine if you get them set up right for medium or heavy gauge strings, and it helps if you play with a plectrum or fingerpicks. Not a whole lot like your modern flattop----but they have a dry, hollow-sounding charm that is all their own.
jefleppard
cool, guys. how about this place? http://tommysguitars.com/ i'm guessing this is one of chicago's best places. the red j100 looks sweet.
Jinder
Wow, That Style O is COOL! I want one of those. That must be a 1920s/30s model, am I right? There are old lithograph style pics of them (like the Broonzy pic above) in the 100 Years Of An American Icon Gibson book. What would a tidy one be worth, if I could find one? jefleppard
you can almost zoom in on the soundhole sticker. i seem to recall reading that these guitars were part of of some sort of guitar war with epiphone, maybe in the 20's. i think, once again, we need ksdaddy to fill in the blanks for us.
