These come up now and again on Ebay etc. There's another one that was listed over at the UMGF. I've never played one, but I heard that despite the striking appearance they don't sound very good. Here's a picture of bluesman Big Bill Broonzy with his:

If you're looking for an old. early Gibson archtop, it could be a find----though the refinish is disturbing. They sound fine if you get them set up right for medium or heavy gauge strings, and it helps if you play with a plectrum or fingerpicks. Not a whole lot like your modern flattop----but they have a dry, hollow-sounding charm that is all their own.

Wow, That Style O is COOL! I want one of those. That must be a 1920s/30s model, am I right? There are old lithograph style pics of them (like the Broonzy pic above) in the 100 Years Of An American Icon Gibson book.

 

What would a tidy one be worth, if I could find one?
