My new Vox cable and my Casino

I know this may sound stupid but I am not sure what to do with my new Vox cable. My wife bought me a coild 9 meter Vox cable for my birthday in February, it was just delivered. I wanted it because of the 90 degree elbow on one end and the straight one at the other. I thought the elbow end was supposed to plug into my Casino to relieve some of the torque of the cable on the guitar. I have recently seen an ad with the elbow end plugged into the amp. Does it matter which end goes where or not?

Thanks everyone for the advice.

You definitely want to use a 90 degree elbow on the guitar because it minimizes stress on the top should you accidentally step on the cable or get it caught somewhere. A straight cable is like a large lever, and make it much easier to CRACK to guitar top (or if the jack is on the side, the guitar side) if this happens. On solid body guitars, it's no big deal (as far as cracking it). But on full hollows, you really need to be careful.

So yeah, use the 90-degree plug ON the guitar, and the other on the amp. The cable doesn't know which way it's plugged in. It works the same either way.

Thanks guys, esp superbadj,

That was my reasoning as well. The Vox ad just threw my a little, maybe it was poetic license on their part. Thanks again to everyone. Starting a four day weekend with the lawn mowed, a couple Corona's and my Epi's - JL Casino and a LE Riviera!!!

Don't want to spoil the party, but I do it just the opposite. Because I have a VOX amp with the cord going into the top of the amp, I use the 90 degree end there. Plugging the straight end into a VOX amp, well, the cord sticks up like a palm tree or something.

By the way, those VOX coil cords are the greatest. The colors they offer are great, the sound is A-OK, and I like it that you don't have cord all over the floor - the coil keeps them always nice and short.

Those do look like nice cables.

I'm going to get one when my new guitar arrives. I'm tired of stepping on the straight cable.

I thought about wireless too, but I'm afraid of losing something. Unfounded I'm sure, but I can't help the feeling.
