In most of the modded versions with a turret/eyelet board the preamp stuff is grounded on thr front and the power amp is grounded on the rear. if you had at least one of those connected and you powered up for a short time ...check your fuses and cross your fingers and connect the other ground and I bet you'll be OK! I tested for everything and it seems ok.. was only on about ten seconds... in fact, the noise could have been a faulty solder joint... I'd just done the mods.. so thanks and yah fingers crossed..
