Looking for info on AI USA Sheraton

H folks, my first post to this group. I found it trying to do a little research in advance of purchase of a Sheraton, which is apparently an "Assembled in USA Sheraton II Reissue". I've been lurking for a week and enjoying the info and banter. Now the guitar has arrived and I still seem to have questions. One of you has one of these in sunburst I believe, and someone posted a "History of the world and Epiphone Sheratons" which was quite helpful. I'm assuming that mine was made in the Terada plant, and assembled/finished in the U.S. (Nashville?) with laquer and US electronics. But I still hope someone can answer these questions -

When were these guitars made, and how many of them were made? What did they retail for when new?

What's the relationship to the "250 made in Nashville" USA series, or to the JLH Sheraton or Elitist series?

Where do these fall in the ranking of modern Sheraton GAS generation?

I bought it to play, not to invest, but I do enjoy knowing as much as I can about the guitars I own. I'll try to post a couple of pics below, and the avatar is a shot of the top if picture posting fails. Thanks a lot for any info, I appreciate the expertise here!

As I understand it, they were basically JLHs without the Boogieman designation. As I remember, when Hooker passed away so did the endorsement. The AIUSAs were the remaining guitars, available with either a frequensator (Sheraton) ot stop tail piece (Sheraton II). I had the frequensator Sherry, and my serial # was very close to yours 96050936.

They were available around 2007, don't know how many were made other than to say not many, they were blown out on the cheap. I think I paid around $1000, which was less than 1/2 the price of the same guitar with Boogieman on the pickguard.

Welcome to the camp

I got it from an online dealer. I just decided I needed a Sheraton to keep my Casino company - you know, didn't get what you wanted for Christmas - but really wanted to try the minibuckers, and wanted natural and mahogany neck. So it looked like elitist, JLH/AI-USA, or the $8500 '64 natural Sheraton at Retro Fret. Since that last one was pure fantasy, I watched for a while to get elitist or JLH, and figured I'd probably wait quite a while for another to show up, so sprang for it. Without details, it was more than 1K and less than 2K. I suppose I would have less buyer's remorse if it was 1K or less, but again, how long would I wait for one to turn up? Besides, money can't buy you love, so it ought to buy you a nice guitar.
