ravofthenorth
I received an Epiphone Les Paul as a gift and I know very little about it. Can anyone tell me what model it is and also any of the specs? Someone told me it was missing the pickup covers but I have reasons to doubt them. I do know that it was made in Dec 2003 in the China factory. The headstock looks identical to this one: http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/items/images/30N/LPSEPI-HCSB_headstock-front.jpg except the tuners are chrome. It looks just like this one http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/9/5/2/474952.jpg but the headstock is different.... I can't seem to find this particular guitar anywhere.... so anything else that anyone can tell me about it would be greatly appreciated!

Epiphone Les Paul Standard. The headstock you said yours looks like is for an Epiphone Les Paul Standard' date=' as there is no binding. Do the pick-ups look something like this? They are called open coil, and you would be right in saying they are NOT missing their covers. Sheila
Hungrycat
Well they COULD be missing their covers if someone took the covers off. But it really doesn't matter if they're there or not. A slight difference in the sound is the only repercussion of removing the covers.
