m-theory Posted June 7, 2010 Share Posted June 7, 2010 My concern would be that you've got mismatched cabinets. For one thing, the 8 ohm speaker will get more power than the 16 ohm. Beyond that, you cannot hook them up in a way that would allow you a matched output tap. In other words, wired in parallel, you'd have 5.33 ohms, and wired in series, you'd have 24 ohms. Obviously, you'd not want to wire in series, but even in parallel, the closest tap you have is 4 ohms, which may or may not be ideal for the amp. I doubt it's enough to toast the output transformer, but still may not be something that the amp is all that happy with, regardless. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
