newlife15
Hey everyone, need some help. i HAVE A 1997 peerless Sheraton and i would like to change the tuners. they currently have the standard tuning pegs which weren't grovers. i saw a nice pair of what looked like grover imperials at stewmac(they are grover super robomatics) and my question is will they be just a drop in substitute? is this something i can do myself? thanks for the help, Newlife15
cjlandry
Get some real Grovers, and avoid something that "looks like" what you want. The swap is easy.

The ones I am looking at are Grover Super Robomatics. 14:1 gear ratio and They are quite nice. :-) My concern is that I will have to drill through the headstock. Sorry, I should have read that in your original post. I don't know. I only know that I've upgraded to Grovers on a few guitars, and I haven't had to drill anything. I don't know about Super Robomatics.
Whitmore Willy
Newlife, Are these the ones? http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Guitar,_solid_peghead_tuners/Grover_Tuners/Grover_Super_Rotomatics.html?tab=Specs#details Can you remove a string, remove the tuner and then measure the hole? It says they require a 10mm hole. Willy
