cin
Hi All,I am a new member but love Gibson acoustic and doubt about Gibson TV. Does anyone know the different between SJ200 true vintage compare with SJ200 standard? I own one SJ200 and it's look like SJ200 TV in specification on Gibson website http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/Super-Jumbo/Gibson-Acoustic/SJ-200-True-Vintage/Features.aspx but my friends said it's a standard one. What years Gibson produce Tru Vintage? My Sj200 is 2001 from serial number? Very appreciate if someone help me to clear this/Thanks This is my sj200

Welcome! Your SJ-200 is too old to be either an SJ-200 TV or an SJ-200 Standard. The True Vintage and Modern Classic (redubbed "Standard" a couple of years later) lines were introduced in 2006. Yours looks like a regular production model SJ-200 from that era. In some respects, yours is more like a contemporary TV than a Standard -- it has vintage-style tuners and lacks a pickup. But it is neither one nor the other. -- Bob R
