Newbie after an ID on my Les Paul Gold Top

Hi guys,

Brand new to the site.

I wonder if any of you experts can identify the age of one of my beloved guitars.

The Serial Number is 73659534, so I'm lead to believe it's a 1979 Les Paul Custom, but how do I know if it's the original neck and maybe the body is older or newer?

Any help or thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,

Cheers for the quick reply.

I bought the guitar 10 years ago, but I know nothing else of its history. I checked a website for the serial number:

Your guitar was made at the

Nashville Plant, TN, USA

December 31st, 1979

Production Number: 34

Wondered if there's a way of acurately dating the body, to make sure it's the original that matches the neck/serial. I've no real reason to believe it has been changed, but wanted to make sure.

If I know it's all original I then want to know a rough value.
