LarryUK
As the title says. What's it like? Is the neck like a Les Paul? The Firebird V is a decent price here in blighty.
Silenced Fred
I would say yes. All of the ones I have played in shops have had thicker necks like a 50s LP, but very comfortable And the mini humbuckers kill man, you gotta play it with some sweet distortion, they don't muddy up and stay clean. It's wonderful
Versatile
It's a great guitar full of it's own unique character No idea how it compares to a Les Paul neck-wise but my impression is 'wide and flat' The Firebird requires an adjusted playing stance due to having much wood behind the bridge The 'laminate' neck through body is a piece of art I believe unique in the guitar world Seymour Duncan make some great after-fit pickups for those inclined.... Stravinsky meets Pontiac (not really) V
LarryUK
The way the neck sits, reminds me of the SG. I've seen the new v model for just over £1100. Which is way under a Les Paul. Andertons do interest free. £40 a month. I wouldn't even notice that.
Riffster
To me the sound is like the Stratocaster version of Gibson. The neck profiles on the few I have played is a bit alien, like Versatile said wide and flat, to me nothing like an LP. The guitar also feels long, my Explorer is long but it hangs different, more balanced.
