MI_Canuck
With the Les Paul Axcess recently released (isn't really my cup of tea, but might appeal to some)... Could an SG Axcess be far behind? http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/les-paul-axcess-standard-the-s/ Check out this pic (or hit the link) - Looks like the SG Tony is holding has the locking nut and floyd rose tremolo... Obviously a custom model (doesn't have the cross inlays, so not an Iommi model, looks like it's based on 61RI (small pick guard) - but they don't come in black)... Wonder if an SG version of the Axcess isn't far behind... http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/ArtistsAndEvents/Stories/tony-iommi-wows-sold-out/ cheers
Ian Martin
****, is it even possible to route enough room for a Floyd Rose in a body as shallow as the SG?
MI_Canuck
Unless it's not a Floyd Rose in the Tony picture...
Ian Martin
Unless it's not a Floyd Rose in the Tony picture... It is probably more likely it is a Kahler...I don't believe you have to do much/any routing for them. BUT, I try to deviate from tremolos so I must admit my experience and knowledge is limited. Anyone else enlighten us?
hi13ts
I'd love to see a SG Axcess. I'm sure that a Floyd Rose will rob some of the tone, but I'm pretty sure it's possible considering how thin a Strat is.
