johny213
I have a 96 jimmy page lp. I had someone look at it the other day and they told me that the pickups were probably not origina. they thought this because swapping out pickups from that year was a very common practice, and the guitar has the pickup covers installed, which is not how it came from the factory. Is this true? I have been looking and see jp lps with no pickup covers, but none with covers installed? and how can i tell if the pickups are original or not? chrisnorthw
On Youtube have a look at Fretted America. The most recent post from them is PhilX reviewing a 96 (I think) Jimmy Page Les Paul. You can compare your spec to the one Phil is playing. Enjoy
StijnV
Hi Chris, We don't ID pickups, but the first Jimmy Page LP's did indeed not come with the pickup covers; to help you out at least a little further. Please find original specs attached. Kind regards, Stijn LPJimmyPageSpecs.pdf

jnastynebr
I'm not sure, haven't pulled the covers off yet. When I do, what should I look for? Pulling off the covers probably wont help you much. I would unscrew the pickup and look at the back.
