guitar_randy
I am having a like/hate relationship with the 498t pickup in my Gibson LEs Paul Studio.I sometimes think it sounds ok,other times it just doesn't sound good to me.I am considering replacing it with a 57 classic or maybe even a gfs vintage 59 or something like this.Anyone like the 498t enough to trade me your more vintage sounding pickup for the 498t ? the_HEWC
I only find the 498T usable for distorted sounds, it's a bit too thin for clean sounds. But I think the combo of 490R and 498T is a good one, they have really different qualities and covers a big tonal ground :)
Flight959
I have the 490R and the 498T in my LP Goddess. They are great all round pickups in my opinion.... Flight959

I go through the same thing and every time I start contemplating the idea of pickups because the guitar isn't sounding right, I put on fresh strings and then it's like "Aaaaah! There it is!" My leg even starts shaking afterward.
