Kelvinator
If ya hate the sound of new strings - just leave the old dead nasty ones on there . That would save $ for more fried chicken! I'm hungry.......................

vincentw
I just put some new strings on my P-Bass, but I can't gather enough courage to rub fried chicken and chicken grease funk all over them. That WAS her actual stage bass I think...

Bassilisk
I think she summed it up with "That's some nasty funk y'all....". I don't care for dead strings as it doesn't suit my style. Anybody that wants to skank up a perfectly good piece of fried chicken by rubbing it on their bass, well, whatever blows your skirt up. From what I know it'd take a lot more than one swipe to get a real effect anyway, especially on rounds - that's not even more than one hot and sweaty gig. Then again, if that's what she planned to do with all that chicken....and then play it afterwards without wiping it down? I remember hearing of one name player that covered his strings in lard and let then sit for a couple of months.
Gaolee
No wonder I was so happy with the old, old strings on the EB. No fried anything will get close to any instrument I own, no matter what. Flats are just fine to start with, although I'm looking forward to them settling down a bit on the P-Bass.
MrNylon
Maybe if you had nylon strings on, you may not mind the added grease on the strings. You'd be grease lightning up and down the neck.
