I have a beautiful new ES-339 That I got, but I'm not getting the sound that I want from it. I love the sound of the P-90 pick-up's Which I have on my Zephyr. So I did some research and found a guitar that looks like the 339 and 335. So my question is, is the 330-L the 339 size or bigger like the other ES models? I'm thinking real hard on getting one but would like to know the size first. Anyone have a 330-L and what do you think of the sound with the P-90's on it. [biggrin]

330's are the same size as 335's

Much lighter weight due to hollow construction

More prone to feedback

The only way is to try one at reasonable amped volume....they sound different to LP and SG P90 guitars

Very similar to top end Casinos

Check out Beatles,Stones,Kinks and Paul Weller for an idea of tones possible.....

I have a 1970 330L and a 2001 Casino, except for the slight difference between metric and US, they bodies are the same size, which as noted is the same size as the semi-hollow 335.

You can see the difference in the upper fret access between the 330L and Casino here: (Note: the Casino is similar to the 330 without the L suffix).

I run my on-stage volumes at about 100db (A weighted, slow response) which is loud enough to give a person ear damage if ear plugs are not used, and I have no feedback problems. Of course YMMV.

I love the P90 sound.
