69tele Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Just wondering if anyone else has an issue with the neck pickup coming loose and causing a rattle on an SG Std Bass mine was like this when it arrived, tightened screws and then was ok for several weeks and now reoccured. I think because of the way the cover is screwed into the wood ? any ideas ?
Morkolo Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 If it's metal on metal put some blue loctite in there.

Bassilisk Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 its metal on metal but then the cover sits directly on the wood. thinking of putting in some springs under the cover on the screws ? Instead of soft foam I like to use a cut up mouse pad under all my pickups. It raises them up enough so that screwing it down makes for a nice tight set. None of my neck pickups (which I rest my thumb on) have ever come loose again. See whether you need one layer or two - it should resist when you screw it down. It'll keep the screws from rattling loose.
