brannon67
Ok, Im pissed. Why hasnt Epiphone made an all KOA model Masterbilt, with Mother of pearl inlays on fretboard, sound hole, and around the body for $400-599 price range. Why! Come on.... Svet
If they were to make that model it would probably be a 1200 dollar or more type of instrument. They made a Ukulele with the specs you're mentioning and if memory serves it cost $599. This was for a Soprano too! and there is one on ebay right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Epiphone-Masterbilt-uke-/120765397156
RIX
Sounds like a cool idea, but what are the advantages of Koa wood over Spruce, Cedar, Rosewood, and Mahogany?
Morkolo
I tried out a Dean Exotica with a Koa body this summer and it sounds great to my ears. Beautiful sound for a guitar that was priced around $450. It's hard to explain any advantage Koa has over any of the other woods, I found the couple I did play had a great balance in tone that worked well with flatpicking, strumming and Travis style finger picking. The grain looked a lot like the one in this picture.
Hungrycat
Koa is an expensive wood. It only grows on tiny Polynesian islands like Hawaii.
