seanalmet
Greetings all, I have aquestion regarding intonation on my Tradition Pro. The intonation is set on my low E string, yet it still reads (and sounds) sharp on the 2nd and 3rd frets. Is this a nut problem or truss rod issue maybe? Any ifo is greatly appreciated
cjmwrx
I had the same issue on my Studio Deluxe. Added a little more relief to the neck, and it took care of it.
Eracer_Team
Does it still read sharp if you don't push the string all the way to the fret board (meaning only lightly touching it to the fret)?
strat-o-steve
Check your intonation and string height. If everything is good there and you still fret sharp on lower frets, it is 100% a nut that is too high :)
seanalmet
Thanks to all, added a 1/4 turn relief to the neck and that improved the problem a little. I guess it will be going into the shop to have the nut filed.

No it is not as sharp when lightly fretting on the 2nd and 3rd frets
