So my '71 SG is in the shop for going on 8 weeks now (re-repairing a cracked neck that was coming apart from the 1st repair 24 years ago - long story) and I was going nuts with nothing to play, so off I went to the mega-mega to play the Epi's and not-Epi's and decided on a Casino.

Found one on craigslist for next to nothing, with a hard shell case to boot, and looking like it had never been played. Rusty strings way out of tune and not a swirl mark or smudge to be found. Took it home, scrapped the plastic crud off the fretboard and soaked it in lemon oil, smoothed the fret ends and filed the casting burrs off the saddle, new strings, intoned.

What a sweet guitar! Might need a tweak to the truss rod and I will polish the frets also. Pictures, I know ... tonight I promise.

Plays like a dream, love the neck, stays in tune, great action. Don't have an opinion on the pickups yet as my Champ amp is also in the shop getting new caps.

Welcome to the forums, there's a terrific bunch of geet geeks around here, I hope you find the place interesting.

Sounds like you got a great deal on the Cassy, they're a brilliant guitar and great value for the money, enjoy yours, HNGD to you, looking forward to the pics.

Congrats on buying the Casino, I have 2 Casinos and they are a joy to play. They sound fabulous through an old Fender tube amp such as the Princeton Reverb,Super Reverb or Twin and of course we all know how great they sound through a Vox.
