jddc_115 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 A couple of months ago I was really interested in purchasing the recently released Limited Edition 50th Anniversary "1961" Casino TDV, which is equipped with the epiphone tremotone vibrato. I've never owned a guitar with a vibrato and was really excited about the idea. When I tested one at my local music store I didn't like it as much as the bigsby and it didn't seem to keep its tuning, especially when I played it against epiphone models equipped with a bigsby. I figured since epiphone swapped from the epiphone made tremotone to bigsby models in the 1960s that there must be a reason for it, and didn't purchase the guitar. So now my questions are: 1)How do people think the epiphone tremotone compares to bigsby vibratos? 2)What experiences have people had with the epiphone tremtone? Thanks, J.
Parabar Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Lets just say there's a reason or six that you'll see Bigsby units on guitars made by Epiphone, Gretsch, Guild, Gibson, Fender, Rickenbacker and others, both factory equipped and added on by players, while the Tremotone was a fairly short-lived phenomenon that never caught on. Bigsby Mo'betta!

damian Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 Yup.......................Even as a huge Beatles fan, I didn't pay much attention to their Casinos until recently.......... ........ Also, Bigsbys didn't interest me until a few years ago........I'm addicted to them now..........
