Epiphone replacement parts

Killing Is Heroism

Recommended Posts

So it's been almost 3 months and all my local suppliers have failed to get me pickup rings that will fit my Epiphone LP Standard (2003 Korean made if it makes a difference). All Parts doesn't fit, Gibson obviously doesn't fit and there was some other brand I can't remember, but that won't fit either. One dealer couldn't afford to sell Epiphone anymore and another is still a dealer, but they all seem to avoid the possibility of going straight to Epiphone for the pickup rings. Is there any way I can get new pickup rings? Mine are cracked and I need new ones. I was thinking about going back to the local dealer and tell them to buy the stuff straight from Epiphone, but it almost seems like that's not possible because they always elude to some other replacement company.

Killing Is Heroism,

Know what? It just occurred to me that if you are ordering from Allfarts that you are probably in the States? Da?!

(Been an off day)

You are correct that Gibby won't fit...they are imperial.

Epi is metric.

Measure outside of pickup mounting ring in m.m. Then measure hole distances.

If they are not given on a website then call (usually toll free) or write an Email to any company and ask.

I'm normally not in a hurry so I usually get mine from Bezdez on Ebay. (so far his have always fit)

http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=pickup+mounting+rings&_sacat=0&_odkw=&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_osacat=0&_ssn=bezdez

Problem is that he is in Canada and it can take almost a month to get across the boarder.

I believe in the US you should be able to get them from:

I would contact them first to verify their dimensions.

As Willy recommends, there are parts sellers on eBay, some with genuine parts or others with generic parts.. and if a seller with a good reputation and lots of sales specifically states certain parts fit Epiphone guitars, then they likely will fit.

Not only are the replacement parts prices generally lower, but there is a vast variety of parts on eBay in different styles than the original parts, if desired. Some eBay sellers also operate real storefront businesses, so it may not be necessary to go thru the process of becoming a registered eBay member.

When I've looked at guitar parts suppliers' catalogs online, it's been apparent that some companies don't provide many specifications for their replacement parts.. so, when I see vague descriptions, I just look for another supplier with with more accurate/specific descriptions.

  • 2 weeks later...

First when I got my John Lennon '65 Casino and my MIC natural Casino I looked all over the Gibson site for chrome covered MIA pickups as are on the '65 Casino but couldn't find anything but black and cream plastic covers.MIA chrome pups are about the only alteration that I'd consider doing to my MIC Casino except maybe a Bigsby.I considered popping the plastic covers off a set of MIA P-90s and putting the chrome covers from the MIC on them instead but I don't know if they'd come off without damaging the bobbins, wire or covers themselves.
