albertjohn
She's a fine looking specimen JT............and Lily!! (Boom boom!) The picture reminds me of my Great Dane, Pixie (she was a rescue and already named) who used to jump up and do the same thing. Some of our dinner guests did used to get quite alarmed! I know it's no consolation but at least she didn't suffer. And I do feel for you daughter though. It must have been a huge shock. Mrs AJ and our 9yo daughter, Maud, are currently trying to persuade me to agree to a new puppy Lurcher. The owner of the farm where she works sometimes, (that's Mrs AJ not Maud you understand) breeds them as working dogs. We went to see them last w/e - big mistake! I say NO!. We have a black lab, a border/yorkshire cross, 3 cats and 3 guinea pigs and with 4 children, I don't need any more mouths to feed. The vets bills in a year could pay for 1/2 an SJ200 I'd wager! However, the lurcher could reduce the small pet population with some careful planning. Hmmmm! So, get back in the saddle mate. The next one will bring you great joy as well. Rosewoody
John, Sorry to hear this. One (small) consolation: well loved pets have a good, if sometimes short, life.
