1998 Les Paul Special

I got this from a local store. It's a 1998 Les Paul Special. The color is "Fire Engine Red". It's hard to tell from the photos but is a see through finish,looks like it has a one piece body.It plays really nice,has a 60s taper neck that doesn't have binding but the sides of the fretboard are lacquered and all the fret ends are very smooth.

I sent Gibson an email to ask what what color my guitar is

Thanks for the email. The pictures and serial number are consistent with a Les Paul Special model in Cinnamon finish, made on the 258th day of 1998 in Nashville, TN. Here are the specs-

Neck – 1 piece mahogany

 

Peghead pitch – 17 degrees

 

Fingerboard – 22-fret rosewood

 

Fretwire - 0.090” wide and 0.055” tall nickel/silver alloy

 

Fingerboard radius – 12”

 

Inlays – pearloid dot

 

Scale length – 24 ¾”

 

Nut width – 1 11/16”

 

Bridge – tune-o-matic (Nashville style)

 

Tailpiece – Stop bar

 

Hardware – chrome

 

Tuners – Gibson deluxe

 

Controls – 2 volume, 2 tone, 3-way toggle switch

I used to have a Fender 'Swinger' in black.

 

I was conned out of it by an unscrupulous London dealership which shall remain nameless...

 

Don't be fooled by anyone saying they're worthless! Especially in CAR.

 

It was crap as a guitar but I still wish I had kept it.
