J.MacQuarrie
I used to be a member here on the Epiphone board years ago but I have lost contact with you guys for a while. I have noticed recently the JL Casino is now called the Inspired by John Lennon and it is a lot cheaper than the $2500 my wife spent on my JL Casino. What is the difference and PLEASE tell me there is a difference between the two.......
jonny_2_owls
Massive differences! The IBJL is made and assembled in china not japan and the USA as the first Lennon casinos were. No nitro finish, nylon saddles etc. I'm sure others will tell you exactly what the differences are. However the new IBJL's are great guitars, I love mine! I have the stripped one and it sounds great! I had an 'R' stamped USA Lennon casino but had to sell it due to a financial issue which I regret almost everyday !
J.MacQuarrie
Thank God. My heart sank when I cruised through the ebay site and just happened to see them for $850. I understand depreciation but I about passed out when I saw that especially due to the circumstances my wife endured ordering it for me. She knew how much of a fan of John Lennon I am so she scrimped and saved without me knowing anything about it and surprised me with it one day. Only to find out Music123 sent her a used/returned guitar and still charged her full price for a new one. To make matters worse they lied directly to me over the phone when I called to ask about the pick marks and the missing warrantee paperwork. I was politely told "they" would warrant the guitar and everything else was good. Really??? Well needless to say it was not good. So much for customer service. I have never been back and I never will. Thanks for the help

brianh
Doesn't include the 3 new 1961 Reissues or the Dwight Trash, but other than that, it's relatively accurate:
J.MacQuarrie
Thanks for all the info guys!!! I ended up returning the guitar after what I consider a "Come to Jesus" phone call with a manager. My wife placed the order over the phone since she was unsure of which model I might appreciate the most. That was the infuriating part of the transaction. They orchestrated what is know as a deceptive trade practice or commonly called bait and switch. I expressed myself to the manager and the situation was rectified. A brand new JL Casino with all the the trimmings was next day air delivered to my door and the cost of shipping the used guitar was paid for by them. The guitar is amazing and I will never part with it because of the sentimental value. Thanks again for all the info John
