zinthek
I recently bought a 1964 sg special, an amazing guitar but with a very weird quirk. When the pickup selector switch is down (treble) it selects the neck pickup, and when it's up (rhythm) it selects the bridge pickup! From what I can tell all of the electronics are original, or at least they look that way (but I'm no expert). And nothing looks out of the ordinary or weird. Has anyone ever encountered this before? Any ideas what the reason could be? It's not really a problem of course, although it does take some getting used to. retrorod
Any ideas what the reason could be? No, not any....other than it has been 'mucked with' by some aliens.... ...and therefore...."not original"
Cam in alberta
As retrorod stated aleins mucked with it, so fix it. Unsolder the two wires on the outside connections of the switch, flip and resolder them.
Gibsonguy1689
ouch... yeah go ahead and fix that, who knows why people mess with great vintage guitars like this.
kaicho8888
Looks like the wires from the pickup's were reversed and solder to the wrong volume knob. What's with the electrical tape on the PU leads?
retrorod
If you don,t know how to solder......get ya some electical tape!!!!...YeeHaw!!
