midiman56
It's Chinese-made, Ed. It sports Gibson P90 pickups as well as a Switchcraft three-way switch and output jack ... not to mention the sexiest case ever! Which finish did you get, Royal Tan or Vintage Sunburst? Tremtone or Trapeze? We need pics!!! I love mine ... it's the same one in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRjiEWgUnB8&feature=related Congrats on a very special guitar! edsleite
Hey Jim ! Thanks a lot by your answer ! I'm really surprised because the guitar it's so amazing, and well manufactured ( any damages or something wrong in the body or building ) ! I read about some guitars made in China with bad signals of construction, specially the LPs ! Well, do you have a Casino 1961 ?! So you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's wonderful guitar. And the sound is GREAT !!! I'm really in love ... Mine is Vintage Sunburst with trapeze ! Really beautifull ! Soon I'll post some pics Thanks again ! midiman56
My pleasure, Eddie! Yes, I own a '61 Casino in Royal Tan with the trapeze tailpiece. I agree that it is a fantastic guitar! Enjoy yours! Jim
KVL
My Casino isn't the anniversary edition, but it is an '05 and was made in Korea. Awesome guitar. I really love it. The Casino models have a certain mojo about them. The only thing I don't like is that it's not the sunburst finish, but I got her used on a trade, so there was no choice on that. LOL!. midiman56
The srial# tells you 11= year 05= month 15=factorycode = Gibson/Epi owned QingDao plant, China 01423= ranking/production number You sure about that serial number interpretation, Peter? If you are correct, then I own #2103 of an edition limited to 1961 units. Jim
midiman56
I'm sure on the first 6 digits AFAIK the ranking/production number is not for that one model....it's for all guits made at that day or batch or... Ahhh ... that would make sense! Thanks!!! Jim
BSAKing
Yes - that makes sense. With my '61, the number in the run is in the certificate of authenticity book. #698 of 1,961. As stated, the serial number appears to bear no relevance to that.

bobouz
Imho, the '61 Anniversary Casino represents one of the best values out there in an Epi. A well executed reissue effort, along with Gibson-made P90s, and hard case - all for a low buck price (if you can still find one!).
bobouz
For anyone who might be interested: As of this writing, Wildwood still has a two of these in stock (in vintage sunburst).
Number29Rick
By all means get that Guitar at Wildwood. A couple of month ago I purchased No. 18 of 1961. The service from Wildwood was excellent and the guitar is awesome. I am going home and playing it today!
