Don.
I took some pics, meaning to post them, not sure how. (red faced smiley here). It's got an interesting figure on the top. Not what I would call 'figured' exactly, but not plain either. Also, it's got that fresh nitro smell someone else posted about. I LUV it!
f5joep
Congratulations! I just got one this past week and am really enjoying it. Mine's a used '07 in Antique Red with the 59 neck. Just my style! Here's a quick pic with a mutt '58 Junior and an '06 R7:
Don.
those are niiiiiiiice! my es is red too, but the thin(ner) neck. I wouldn't really call it thin.
f5joep
The 30/60 neck is a nicely sized shape. Not too small with plenty of shoulder. Cool.

f5joep
Thanks on the gold top! I must say that the 339 body size simply works best for me. I'm a home player and so used to the LP body size that my older 335 never got played. So it went on to another owner.

Volt
Looks great Don! I love seeing the wood in a guitar's finish. I bought an ES-339 Caramel Burst today online. Should be here in a few days. I'm pumped!
Don.
I think you'll enjoy it, Volt. I'm really liking mine. The waiting is a little hard though, isn't it? I feel grateful to own a great guitar like this.

guytar1
Congrats Don. Don't forget to rotate the bridge pup ring 180 degrees... that will flatten out that pup, if thats a concern for you. I put a Bigsby on mine, pretty hip. Kinda "poor mans' Johnny A".
Murph
Damn, Don..... That's a beauty...... Mines a Vintage Burst but I don't do pictures yet. Congrats. Murph.
Murph
Wait a minute..... Guytar1. Did you mean the neck pickup. And, duh, is it that simple..... Doh..... And then, why are they building them wrong. Or is there a reason. I need a beer. Murph.
guytar1
Wait a minute..... Guytar1. Did you mean the neck pickup. And' date=' duh, is it that simple..... Doh..... And then, why are they building them wrong. Or is there a reason. I need a beer. Murph.[/quote']Yep Murph ,it's that simple. I've seen many reviews from customers complaining about the fact that the neck pup tilts drasticly down on the fingerboard end of the pickup, thus creating a more "single coil tone". whether this is true or not may depend on the persons ears... but I rotated mine anyway. looks fine. always reversible too. as is my Bigsby-no xtra holes. have a couple brews for me
bobv
They seem to have put different mounting rings on the 339 so it's less of a problem. The rings on my 339 are thinner than the Gibson replacement part rings I used for my Epiphone (both neck and bridge). As for the tilt, all I needed to do was raise the screw polepieces a tad and it seems to be more even. Not as much of a problem as it can be on a 335 (Clapton turned his ring around, too). KennyF
as is my Bigsby-no xtra holes. Really? Is it held on by only the strap button screw? If so, that's pretty cool. How about a pic of butt plate...

That bigsby looks cool, btw.
