clarkuss
Bit of an impulse buy. This week marked the 10th anniversary of one of the my favourite albums, Up The Bracket by The Libertines and it brought back lots of teenage memories of watching my favourite band at that age. The two guitarists played a Gibson Melody Maker and an Epiphone Coronet, so with that reissue floating around and all the nostalgia I picked up this little thing to keep me company until I get hands on that elusive Coronet and make them a a pair: Should get it on Monday. Love 3/4 scale guitars anyway so should be a bit more fun to play than the Epiphone '57 LP Jr i had a few years ago which was a bit of a dog... clarkuss
Thanks Jon. Should be here tomorrow and can't wait to plug it in. This is my 2nd Gibson but Epiphone is still winning. I have 7 Epiphones!
tweed2
The Melody Maker was the guitar that started my love affair with P-90 PUs. I bought a "used" 2010 with a Lollar and a Pigtail wraparound. Loved it. Then I tried a Casino......well, you can guess the rest (this was before I quit selling guitars to buy another, and started collecting). MMs are a blast. Short scale, light, a sports car in the guitar world. Enjoy yours, wish I'd kept mine.
Aster1
That looks like a fun guitar Clark!! I likes it. Will have to look up the Epi Coronet to see what that looks like too. Have fun with that beauty. What music are you going to play on it? Aster
clarkuss
I don't really know what I'll use it for to be honest. I've just moved into a new house so hopefully be able to set up some recording equipment soon and have this in the house for laying down some electric guitar tracks. I have a few guitars already in the house so good to have a variety. I bought it more for its association with my one of my favourite bands but I'm sure it will get plenty of playing time as I learn lead bits for my Beatles tribute band and noodle around for my own amusement. Here's a few pictures of a 1964 Epiphone Coronet. Epiphone are supposedly reissuing it in cherry soon LINK to Reissue (pic is large) - http://www2.epiphone.com/press/PRESS_1964Coronet1.jpg
