eor
so... what the hell is it? why "j"? how does it differ from a regular emperor? though the label is hard to read, it appears to be legit, if you believe this: click down to "epiphone japan" section specs, dimensions and whatnot would be nice. 428CJ
If it's really a Fuji-Gen Epi, it's likely an outstanding guitar. I have a Fuji-Gen Epi SG that is every bit as good a guitar as my '68 SG Standard, if not better in some ways.
Parabar
so... what the hell is it? why "j"? how does it differ from a regular emperor? pecs, dimensions and whatnot would be nice. The Japanese Emperor was made in two versions: a full-depth (or Jumbo sized) one denoted with the letter J, and a Thinline one called Emperor-T. The J was fully hollow with a floating bridge, the T had a center block and a drilled-in bridge. Both were 17" wide at the lower bout, 25.5" scale and used the same materials --- spruce top, maple back and sides, laminated maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, gold hardware. Parabar
Parabar, Are you familiar with this one ? I can't quite place the shape or serial number Epiphone on eBay That's an Emperor II --- pre Joe Pass. It's basically the same guitar as the JP, but when Joe signed his endorsement deal with Epiphone, they moved the pickup selector from the cutaway horn to the bass bout and added the signature to the pickguard and Joe's name to the truss rod cover. 1990, Samick built. Good guitar!
