burdger
So I've been looking for a guitar with a decent trem system on it, and I finally found this Ibanez on my local C-list. So far I'm very pleased with it. The original crappy Ibanez trem has been replaced by a Schaller Floyd Rose, and as you can see, the pick ups have been replaced with EMG's. I got a heck of a deal on it, I think. Now I think I'm going to strip it down and swirl paint it. Anybody have any experience with this that wants to offer any tips? Bender 4 Life
nice ! same setup as a Burns "Series 10" I had a few decades ago (my hair metal daze) not experienced with swirl paint but it's probably the same as any.... pippy
What a great project to have! As far as Swirl Painting goes there are loads of videos on youtube. Here are a couple. As you will see, one is more 'professional' in approach than the other but there is still useful stuff in both. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDihEZdOTtY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmSV2l6JFt0 Good luck and keep us posted! burdger
Thanks for the videos. I've watched a ton of them, but was just wondering if anyone had anything they experienced while doing it that I should take note of. Here is my process so far....
