dem00n
How do 12 string guitars work with distortion? Now that i think of it, i never played one with any true gain on the amp. Any sort of effect?
Searcy
Sounds like this.
dem00n
Sounds just like i thought it would. I thought it would be similar to a hollowbody with distortion, but that's just downright feedback. Also the pickups do make a difference... Now i just gotta find the right 12 string guitar...
Dub-T-123
It sounds sick with a fuzz If your budget is low, the Danelectro 12 strings have a good sound. Awesome with fuzz At a mid level Schecter makes a 12 called the Stargazer which is pretty cool Of course Rickenbacker makes the best 12. My Rickenbacker is the best sounding guitar I've played (I have a 6 string though). A cool option is warmoth. You could make a really good quality 12 for under a grand
Dennis G
Or get one of these http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/G542212Bk/ Just got mine a few weeks ago, and other than the expected "headstock heavy" syndrome, I'm liking it.
Searcy
The Dean Boca 12 is a great place to get started if you're just looking for something to mess around with. MRSP is $300 but I have seen them used at Guitar Center for $199. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEAN-BOCA-12-12-STRING-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-BLACK-/291194306870?pt=Guitar&hash=item43cc888136#ht_1888wt_916
