milod Posted February 29, 2012 Share Posted February 29, 2012 What gets to me is how even 35 years ago I was hollering for young musicians to really get into their own roots. Instead it appeared to many went with some fads that even kids today don't think were particularly artistic. Then we see things like this... Call it whatever style you wish, it's rooted in that unique combination of Brit/Scots/Irish folk music with a big dollop of the gravy called blues. The reverse also is true as we saw the blues greats comfortably playing off, if not on stage, whatever tripped their trigger and adding their own experience to it. Yup. This is good. Kinda funny, though, how so many Americans mess with Celtic stuff and how many Brits get into country and blues... And... then the Antipodeans who take both traditions too and make them their own...
