Main reason I got rid of mine. Love Epiphones, but that is a design flaw I would not live with.

You’re right. The cherrys never seem to come up. There are 3 Pelham blue up on eBay. I chose the white. Had to go through 3 to find one with no flaws. Good luck with your hunt.

I thought about putting a Bigsby on mine, but only if I could find an Epiphone branded one. Those are so hard to find in the used market. Missed out on one a couple of years ago on eBay, and have not seen one since.

Yes. The only other Epi in orange is the Swingster (Country Gent, but no longer in production). I love this body style, thin with a Florentine cutaway. Great combination. I know the P90s are not period correct, but I love the sound out of these.

Sorry for the delay, got a new hosting service. Took longer than I anticipated to download everything from Photobucket. (They no longer have a Download Album and I had to download each image one at a time. Thanks Photobucket, I will never grace you domain again.) So where was I? Oh yeah . . . My 96 Sorrento. The color is of the second photos below. Bought this around 12 years ago.Had a headstock repair before I bought it. Never had a problem with it. Got it for around $280 including a hard case, and will never part with it. Plays as well if not better than my 96 Casino. Both Peerless. She is stamped 2nd and Used on the back, might have been from the crack, but she was fixed tight by the previous owner. Not a bad job. Solid as a rock and no problems for over a decade. Not that it matters, I will never sell her. Sorry for such large photos. But I like big photos.

I love my blondes also, but this just called to her. She is my only orange, I love a thin line with a Florentine cutaway. And she is so fun and sweet to play. Fantastic neck. Pickups sound really good. Not sure i’d they are original.Hard to believe she’s 22 years old.

Good topic Clark. As a buyer of both Korean and Chinese (currently more Korean) I am inclined to say that the new quality of the recent Chinese models would not stop me from buying a clean 90s Korean model. I have 3 chinese Epi's. While the 62 Sheriton reissue and LP TV yellow were great from the start, I had to go through 3 ES-355s before finding one that was acceptable. I have upgraded the electronics (wiring, not pickups) on most of my Korean models, but I also got most of them for under original cost.Granted the early 2000 Chinese had their issues, but so did some Koreans. In my opinion, Korean or current Chinese are both good alternatives to their more expensive Gibson cousins. As for whether the new quality would put me off of buying a clean Korean, I don't think so.The 90s Korean models will not be reproduced (I doubt Epiphone will ever produce a "96 Period Correct Peerless Casino Reissue")Epiphone produced some great reissues and originals (Del Rey, for one) that I keep looking for and will buy.I also keep looking at the new models which I like and will probably purchase depending on model. So I guess I might be one of those you could categorize as a true lover of Epiphone Guitars. Old and new.

Good luck with her. I have an FT-135. Block inlays. My luthier reset the block and it plays great. Bought mine in a pawn shop in Dallas in 1980 for $75. Today she sounds and plays better than a $75 guitar. Some of the Matsumokus are not that bad. Just getting one and make her playable.
