Car show.... 4 hours.... 4 sets..... tired. I'm too old for this. But it was fun. Decent weather... and playing outside no one complains about you being loud.

I played four sets with it tonight at a car show... we are in love. Does everything the other one does, but the neck is a little fatter (which I like) and the pickups have a little more midrange snarl (which I like). New #1.

Great looking top..... and it already has the proper knobs for a Les Paul! 🙂

Corporate farms are more of a problem now, than they were then
Family farms are toast. I did read a book by an English farmer recently about a return to old-school, crop rotation farming that was interesting. Maybe it will catch on here too.

Paul is no slouch and can play almost everything except horns. He is/was the best singer in Them Beatles by about 100 miles.
Sugar and sweet.... they sounded good together. Like in Humble Pie.... Marriot was great but Frampton added some sweet to his salt. Shrugs..... just sayin'. Was either better? I liked the mix.....

If you can find them anymore, Jim Wagner makes some great Duane inspired humbucker sets. Not cheap.... about $300 for the set, but they sound great. I have a "Crossroads" in my Les Paul and they are amazing. I have been thinking about one of the Duane sets for an SG.... I can't bear to remove the set that's in the LP now because it sounds too good.

Great band that are kind of unknown for some reason.
I loved Morphine. Even better I love Sandman's previous band "Treat Her Right". Sorta lo-fi rockabilly. Killer stuff.

Finally got the David Grissom SE that I ordered like 9 months ago! I always wanted his signature model but dragging a nearly $3k guitar to gigs seems unwise. When they announced the SE version I ordered it right away. I've been using the PRS SE 24 Vintage Sunburst onstage almost exclusively for almost two years and have really enjoyed it. But the DG controls are more to my liking. This weekend I'm going to try the new DG at a gig and will then decide which is the keeper... or.... yeah.... no.... I don't really need both. I use other guitars for other tunings so two PRS will really be overkill. Wish me luck....

I have Am. Prime. I’ll check it out. Is it a biopic or documentary?
Documentary.

We’re the guys that already bought stuff. Not too many of us actually buying new Gibsons here. Last Gibson I bought was in 2020 and I’ve noticed very few posts of brand new Gibsons here in the past few years
Last new Gibsons I bought were two 2019 Les Paul Junior tributes. I used them as my gig guitars for a while: the dual pickup in standard tuning - the single pickup in open G. They were super solid but uninspiring. I sold the dual pickup one but I still have the single pup one. Just don't play it much. For the discerning eye... I eventually ended up with reflector knobs on both (as opposed to those pictured) and I rewired them with each with an Emerson drop in kit. I don't know why Gibson still uses such crappy parts on $1k guitars, but I know how to fix it.

Luscious looking Strat. I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks.

I wish you the best. I hope you find relief soon. I went through something similar recently so I know what you’re going through. Mine started out as pain in my left shoulder. An MRI revealed a partially-torn rotator cuff. Started physical therapy to deal with that. Then the pain began moving down my left arm (elbow, wrist and also the soft tissue) until I couldn’t lift my arm and lost most of the use of my left hand. Then the pain expanded from my shoulder up into my neck. From there, it travelled down my right arm into my right hand. Not quite as bad as the left arm/hand, but made it virtually impossible to do anything. Subsequent MRIs of my cervical spine revealed degenerative disk disease, severe spinal stenosis and two severely herniated disks. Epidural steroid injects didn’t help. Ended up having cervical spine fusion surgery, having the disks between the C5/C6 and C6/C7 vertebrae and having the 3 vertebrae fused.
I started feeling relief/improvement almost immediately. No restrictions after 6 weeks. Didn’t even need physical therapy. It’s been 4 months now and I’m back to playing guitar, working out, everything I used to do and have nearly 100% use of both arms and hands again.
I hope you can find something that will provide similar results.
I feel your pain! I had the exact same problem.... degenerative disks. I had my C3-C6 fused this summer. Bionic neck! My symptoms weren't pain as much as muscle weakness and limited range of movement. I had the surgery last of May. In the rehab lane now.... slow going. Getting old sucks. Avoid if possible..... LOL.

I watched a good Brian Jones (Stones) biopic over the weekend called.... Rolling Stone: Life and Death of Brian Jones. To be fair I knew the story pretty well, but they had some interviews footage that I had not seen. Amazon Prime Video... free if you are already paying for Prime

I always think of the Eagles as three different bands. The first version with Bernie and the banjo and more country leanings. The second with Felder and Bernie, more rock but still the occasional twang. The third with Walsh and Felder a full on rock sound devoid of much of the country rock instrumentation. Randy got to experience all three of these. Notice I ignore the later incarnations and whatever the current milk-the-cash-cow version is.... sorry Joe if you are involved. You should punch Don Henley in the face.

I heard you can get lobster at McDonald’s in Maine
You absolutely can. Better to get it elsewhere but they have a lobster roll on the menu.

Got in at 12:30 last night. Old and exhausted. But stop? Are you kidding me. Too much fun to stop. Unloaded this afternoon and will have to reload most weekends through the rest of the year.

Actually window shopping for one of those pour overs. I use a press for me and the wifey. But lately I've been getting up at 5-530 AM to feed critters and such. I need a cup. But fixing a pot that early. Wifey gets tepid coffee by 8 er 9. Doesn't care for micro'd coffee. How she can tell, dunno.
Kinda hard to find a good stainless bodied and screen type for 1-2 cups that's not from China. No plastics for me. Glass and ceramic require filers. And those with paper filters, upon final top off, can go a little slow.
My oldest son worked in a coffee shop and that's what he used at home and recommended. No complaints. Makes a perfect two cups.

Who is Mike Ladd? Did he really wind pickups for Duane Allman?

Likely no one knows. 1970 was a long time ago. I got the Wagner pickups off eBay and they sound insane in that Les Paul. If he is still making them I might be tempted to order another set. I just don't know if he is.
