  1. Good recommendation. I love rock bios and read a few every year so I'll check this one out. Another really good one - assuming you like Humble Pie - is "The Best Seat in the House" in which Jerry Shirley tells wonderfully detailed stories about his years as Humble Pie drummer. I recently read Bill Bruford's heady autobiography as well. Highly recommended if you are a fan of his drumming.  Oh... Neil Peart's writing is great too. Wow.... just realized they are all drummers and I'm completely inept at drums. Weird.... anyway... .enjoy!

  2. I always have a few book going at once. Currently bouncing between these....

Fiction: Old Filth - Jane Gardam

Non Fiction: A Brief History of Earth: Four Billion Years in Eight Chapters - Andrew H. Knoll

Graphic/Comic: Saga, Book One Brian K. Vaughan (Writer)   Fiona Staples (Illustrator)

  3. I guess I never actually answered the knobs question: I tend to put reflector style knobs on my Gibsons because I like the look. The positioning of the knobs means I don't use them much anyway. Standard Strat knobs are fine on my Strats... and the volume knob is in a usable spot. I tend to leave the tones set... wide open on the neck and middle and rolled off a bit on the bridge (if they aren't wired that way I rewire them so they are).  I like the highly knurled knobs on my Teles since one has to reach for the knob a bit. I've tried the flip control thing and it didn't help much as for reach. Lately I use a PRS onstage a lot and it has speed knobs which work well. Sometimes I'll rough them up a bit for grip.

This is my favorite period & line up of the Eagles..

As much as I love the Eagles with Bernie Leadon.... when he quit, hiring Walsh was the right move. After the Long Run (I saw them on that tour) I'm not interested.  What they did to Felder is inexcusable.

My doctor (who has NO sense of humor) asked me what a Long Drink was....I told him..... Gin, Juniper and grapefruit drink.... about 8% alcohol (if you get the black can).....and of course, a Gin & Tonic.....then he said, "You like your gin, eh?"

I love both the Long Drink and the G&T.... recently had a French Negroni at a fancy restaurant, and boy was that a good gin based drink.

  6. Summer..... the only time of the year where it's cooler in NE Florida than a lot of the rest of the country!  Upper 80s with a seabreeze is pleasant compared to a lot of the heartland in July and August. Of course it will be upper 80s until November.... but.... 😆

those are the ones I was just looking at. plan on ordering a few.

I use one snakehead style to go from my guitar to my pedalboard, but a standard one to go from there to my amp.

Yes but no-one is using Photobucket as they charge now.

    Postimage works for me.

I hope you are well, nice to see you posting again.

Thanks, man.  Yeah I let my Photobucket die when they wanted $$$, but I think I still have an Imgur account.

I've heard about those cables. I'll have to check them out.

I know we've stayed in tough but it's nice to see you back in the lounge ...

They make a "snakehead" cable with no jacket on the last foot or so to run behind your strap better and won't scratch your guitar  since the outer weave is super sturdy.
