I'm not sure if I would rather have some advance notice or just be blindsided. We all know it's coming eventually, but if you get some kind of terminal diagnosis at least you can take care of some things first. But really I'd prefer something like an explosion or obliterated by a meteor or something. It's quick and no one will be able to stare at my dead ***.
this reminded me of a funny song they used to play on 98Rock back in the day. Wouldn't you know the magic of Youtube has it 😎

The kid is very impressive. A little creepy and morose looking though. 🙂
think they are active pickups?

What is a gig?
Dude. You, more than about anyone else here should have some stuff booked. Aren't you in Florida? I can't imagine you have no jobs lined up?

Wow a 4hr show - hey that's great to hear!! (and thank goodness - I was beginning to worry I was the only one still playing out)
let there be more!...soon!
Yeah. Things are starting to pick up. I have another acoustic coming up this Saturday night and many more booked though the summer. Plus the full band already has about 20 booked between April and November. Looking forward to a better summer than last,

I've changed my avatar a few times over the years. My current avatar is a picture from a band gig a few years ago. I liked the filter effect that was used. I cropped the rest of the band out and uploaded it here. It's still too small and I'll probably change to another avatar at some point.

remember nearly everyone here, and who is who is coming back to me.
I haven't played hardly at all since. In fact, I picked up and played about 6 months ago and found I had no callouses left. Can you even imagine?
I know this sounds strange to a lot of you, but unless I am going to play in a band or with others, I have no desire to play, and right now, there isn't a desire to join a band or start that all up again. But, every now and again....I think what if? I should jam with these folks...or..but it's only just a thought. It's a LOT of work!
This may sound vain, but where I used to be somewhat a ham, now I do NOT want to go up on stage!
Yeah I remember you. And I'm sorta like you. If I'm not playing in a band or jamming with people, I lose interest in playing guitar real fast.

Had an acoustic gig tonight. Went very well considering we never rehearse. This one was a 4 hour gig, so we had to reach in to our bag of tricks to fill up the time. We mostly winged it and did a lot of solo/jams to eat up time.

Can't wait to see the pics Duane. Always room for a Strat in the collection. I know I miss having one.

Very cool 'Scales.
I've actually played 2 acoustic gigs. Saturday of las;-t week and Friday last night at the same local bar. Although capacity is still not 100%, the crowd was very appreciative both nights. (we even got flashed some boobage by an enthusiastic lady 😎) I have a feeling as the weather warms up, our outdoor gigs are gonna have great crowds.

Either a similar topic was posted awhile ago or I'm having deja vu.
Anyway. Jay is my nickname. A lot of times I end up being called JayBird. In one of my bands, they ended up calling me JD because their original singers name was also Jay. Even though he's gone, they still call me JD.

- usual strategy for me: slam down a beer, grab another, stride on stage and hope for the best!
I use that same strategy 😎

Wow. This bizarre thread was started on my birthday in 2009. Maybe that's why I never responded.
I know where Homz is. I wonder about Thundergod and Dem00n? Dem00n would be a full fledged adult these days. Man, time flies.

The most recent I've read was Steve Lukather's "Gospel According To Luke". Even if you aren't a TOTO fan, it's still a good read. He's played with so many people and has many cool stories and insights.

The idea of using screws on this repair is hideous
Yeah. I was just thinking out loud. Probably wouldn't do something like that.

Back to the OP.
I think I've decided to take my guitar in to work (a machine shop) some time and figure some way to drill, screw or clamp it. Might as well make it a project.

Seen these movies a few times and it was time for another viewing. Each time I see them I pick up more stuff. One is Donny Darko, and the other is Memento. If you have never seen either they are very interesting. I think tonight I will watch The Big Lebowski again. If you have never seen either Donny or Memento and want to watch, watch closely the clues are there.
The Dude abides.
That's just like your opinion, man.

I've always been a sucker for anything with a natural wood grain. That's why I love the 1958 Les Pauls. I do love a good burst too. Those Cherry Burst Customs are awesome.
Of course I also love the Gold Top color.

Beautiful. Love the natural grain.

I saw that a few years ago but had forgotten about it. 🤣
The one with John Mayer on The Dave Chappelle show was pretty good too.

Good for you Scales. Hope it's a great show, no matter how big or small.
I could have played acoustic gigs last two weekends, but I declined on my wife's account. Hopefully it won't be much longer for all of us.
Let us know how it goes.

That break looks totally fixable from here
I agree 100%.
I would drill a fine pilot hole (beneath the truss rod cover) right thru both pieces, install a proper sized bolt, washer, and acorn nut, lay the glue in, insert & tighten up the hardware, and then leave it clamped for a day or two.
Reinstall the truss rod cover, string it up, and rock and roll.
I thought about putting a screw through, like you said, but was worried where it would come out near the truss rod. It seems if I don't get it into a meaty part of the wood behind then it won't have much to hold.

Cool guitar. Congrratz. Never had a bad experience with a Yamaha product.
Just curious. How do we pronounce Zzounds? Is is Z Zounds? or just Zounds with an emphasized ZZ sound?

He had a hammer.
RIP to one of the all time greats.

What the hell. Here are all three of my guitars. I pick up the Kokocaster tomorrow from having the electronics repaired.
