  1. This is just something I have been wondering about. It has no real importance to my life other than curiosity.

Ever since radio began being broadcast digitally,  I've noticed some odd anomalies. For instance,  my car radio usually displays the station and if a song is playing it will scroll Title and Artists. However each station has it's own unique tendencies. I live in DC/Baltimore area. One station DC101 gets stuck on one or two words for like a minute and then speeds through the rest. It's very distracting if you're driving and want to read it. Trying to keep eyes on road but wait for the word to change so you can catch the whole thing. Another station, 98 Rock will sometimes have the same song and artist stuck displayed for days and even weeks at a time. Another station 103.1 WRNR doesn't display song and artist on my radio, but that station does display it in my friends car.

    Any explanation for this weirdness?

  2. The title said Kitty Pix. Figured I'd add mine.

The challenge of changing strings in my house.

She immediately claimed my amp for herself. BTW. This PRS amp just crapped out on me at a gig and I had to go directly into PA.

Man I loved when Sheetz had the fake Jack-In-The-Box tacos (if you know what J-I-T-B is). They don't have them at the one I stop at in between Newport New, VA and Little River, SC.

Take some advice form Gene Simmons from that show Family Jewels and never get gas station sushi. He was busting on his wife and daughter for getting sushi at a gas station, and they got food poisoning.

We usually stop at the one right over the Nice Bridge or another one a few more miles past. My wife loves their subs on a pretzel bun. 🙂

Or any other weather or road conditions.  When we lived down in Lakeridge 87 - 88, 95 was no more than three lanes up to DC, they couldn't drive if they had to.  Today, 95 is 95 lanes almost to Fredericksburg, and still, nobody knows how to drive.  We've overnighted more than one night in 45 of the lower 48, Virginia wins for absolute worst traffic situations.  I expect that before I shuffle off this mortal coil, DC will make it all the way to Richmond.  In fact, today, DC is actually easier to get around than F'burg is to get past.

That's why I take 301 rather than 95 on my way to Mechanicsville or Beaver Dam. Yeah, there are traffic lights but at least there's more scenery and plenty of Sheetz for stopping. Plus on 95 you can be going 80mph in the middle lane and these impatient doosh bags ride up on your @ss like you're going 40.

I saw this article about Eric Clapton and I'm struggling to understand just what he's trying to say, he seems to have lost the plot.

Eric Clapton believes 'mass formation hypnosis' made people get COVID vaccine (msn.com)

He must have read about or have heard that Dr Robert Malone (possibly on Joe Rogan's podcast). The guy claims he "invented" the mRNA vaccine but now rails against it and he promoted this mass formation psychosis idea.

  6. I'm like most other here. I do my best to keep them safe and pretty. They mostly stay in the cases at home when I'm not playing. But I do take them out to gigs and practices and jams. They all have dings and scratches and one even has a cracked headstock. I don't like when they get banged up but I also don't dwell on it. The alternative is to put them in a glass case and just look at them.

Saturn,    My sons love Bourbon.  Must have inherited it from their Mother !  Makers Mark for one.  Gourmet like yours for the other.  Is that 'Welcome' sign made from an old, old piece of slate from an old Slate Roof ?   We have a few we saved that look just like it, from a house built 110 years ago.

RBS - congrats.  I know how you feel.   I gave all my ball gloves away to sons and grandsons over the years - but for Christmas, my wife got me a really nice new Nokona fielders glove,  For a game of catch in the back yard. when family visits.  Probably 10x what  I spent on my gloves 'back in the day'.

That Slate is another story all it's own and kinda funny. Yes it's an old roofing slate. There's a place in Baltimore right across from Ravens Stadium called Second Chance. It's like a big consignment shop staffed by paroled prisoners looking for a second chance. Much of the stuff there is left over construction material, or salvaged from demolition/renovation etc. My wife and I were in there a few years ago and they had those old roofing slates for about $1 apiece and she had the idea to decorate them so we bought a stack. My neighbor is an artist and sign painter so we gave some to him to experiment and that is the very first one he did. Well since then his daughter has jumped on it and gets him to make personalized slates and she sells them on Etsy and various pop-up  shops around Annapolis. Now he cusses me out for starting this whole thing. Apparently it's a big PIA the prepping and cleaning of the slate is more work than the painting and the money he makes is negligible. Sorry Mic 😅

  8. Splurge or overspend? Depends on how you look at it.

On NYE I went into a store because they had Makers Mark for $19.99. I thought "what a bargain. Think I'll grab a bottle and save some money".   In there I notice two bottles of Booker's on the shelf. I haven't seen Booker's on any shelf in any store for at least 3 years. I asked the guy for price and mentioned I never see it. He said they got a rare case of it in and these are the last two left and they're $99.00 After debating about it for  few minutes I said WTF and grabbed it. My wife was waiting in the car and wondered what took me so long. When I told her, she briefly flipped out and then said I work hard and deserve it, and anyway my next gig will pay for it. [cool]

So now I have a rare bottle that I'm reluctant to open until a special occasion.

Anyone else do a little indulgent overspending lately?
