  1. I'm not sure if this is relevant to the topic. I haven't watched the documentary yet but will probably watch at some point.

I was at a KISS show in about 1985 at the Baltimore Civic Center. I'm not sure what album they were promoting or who opened for them. Maybe Twisted Sister? But both Bruce Kulik and Mark St John took turns playing. I think Mark was sick or something. Then Paul Stanley told everyone to just get out of their seats and come up to the stage. Of course we all did even though Security tried their best to stop us. I wound up against the guard rail right in front of the stage. The security guy kept trying to get me to move back but there were thousands of people behind be and I couldn't back up if I wanted to. I was kinda worried that I would be crushed against the railing if the crowd surged forward any more. The guy I was with caught a drumstick. I remenber those things more than the actual music.

I played an outdoor gig this afternoon in the parking lot of a shopping center. We had them landing on us and flying in our face the whole time. And the sound was almost as loud as the PA.

P.S. I deleted the {img} and it still won't embed the f@cking photo!  [confused] Even deleted the S [cool]

Here's the photo working now. It's just a matter of principle.  🙂

  3. Very nice photos. I'll try Imgur again since that's all I have.  I didn't think this site let you direct post anything worthwhile because of the file size limit. I was surprised at the difference with the Imgur photo color.

Still won't embed an image for me. For a brief second, the photo appears on the screen  but then it goes right back to the https link . [confused]

  4. Played my  3rd gig in 3 days tonight. It was a private party held at a restaurant in Baltimore.

It was a great night. Got paid well, got to eat and drink for free and had an enthusiastic crowd that danced and sang along all night.

Played acoustic gig last night and used the new Takamine for the first time. I was amazed at how nice it sounded through the PA. Much better than my friends Martin IMO. Maybe it was the just player?  [smile]

I took a good, IMO, photo of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge from where we played

All POV's   I'd say GENE KELLY was the ANDRE SEGOVIA of dancing,  FRED ASTAIRE was the JOE PASS and DONALD O'CONNOR was the JIMI HENDRIX of dancing.  [wink]

And maybe RAY BOLGER Is the EDDIE VAN HALEN   of dance

I didn't know Pee Wee Herman was such a good tap dancer.

  6. Yes. I thank you both. I click the Copy tag next to the photo and I have removed the S from https but still the same result. It's really just the principle of the thing at this point. I know I'm making a bigger deal than it has to be.

See this is just me trying to figure out why photos won't work for me. Sgt Pepper showed me how to do it above, and it was working in other threads for awhile. Now it only provides a link to my Imgur rather than embedding the image like it's supposed to do. Maybe it's my laptop. I'm going to try it on a different computer and see if that works.

Deb & I were looking him up, She found his story on her I phone.

Was that the article where they were talking about his barber shop in Georgetown and the doctors he was playing in a band with?  Our band was going to get together with that band and do a little tribute thing but life goes on and it never happened.

  9. Hard to believe time has gone so fast. Many of you have heard the story how we were jamming when he dropped dead off his drum stool.  Someone sent me a screenshot of this old FB post today.  Among all his musical gear, his family gave me the Les Paul 1957 Reissue and the conga drums in the photos below. I was with him the day he bought the guitar and took the photo of him holding it.

One more tribute to my buddy

  10. I'd say my wife is tolerant of my guitar hobby. She's cool with my modest collection of guitars and amps and my jamming and playing in bands. She even buys me stuff occasionally.

But she doesn't have any personal interest in guitars and such. She comes out to about half my gigs but doesn't feel the need to be a groupie or anything. There are times when I know she gets annoyed with me playing in several bands as it takes up a lot of time and we miss other things because I have a gig or rehearsal. She also worries, rightfully, about me driving home after gigs and me not living the healthiest lifestyle.

  11. Played a bar gig with the full band tonight. Actually there was a snafu, and I was double booked with the band and my acoustic partner. My buddy Stave can play acoustic solo, although he prefers when I'm there to do fills and leads solos. Plus we have a blast together.  But I had to chose the full band tonight because they have no one to fill in if I'm not there.

So, I played with the band and it was a decent night. We've certainly had better,  and also had worse. We had several guests sit in with us. Two guitar plyers and a female singer who's specialty is singing Janice Joplin. That was fun, especially jamming with another guitar player. Crowd was good, but like I said we've certainly had bigger and more lively crowds before.

I kinda wish I had done acoustic gig with my buddy . He called me as I was driving home and said there was a huge biker group at the place and he had a lot of fun. But it would have been more fun with his buddy to share.  He saw a lot of biker girl t!tties.    😎

Here ya go. Next time you post a pic from IMGUR do this. Remove both of these [img] from the beginning an end of the link [img]https://i.imgur.com/phslihZ.jpg[/img]  so it looks like this in the post, https://i.imgur.com/phslihZ.jpg, and put the curser after the .jpg and hit enter and the photo will pop up.

    Congrats.

Thank you. I wonder what's changed though. Like I said, I used to just Copy/Paste and presto, a photo appeared. Why can't things just stay the same? Now excuse me, I have to go yell at these kids on my lawn.
