I don't have a tickets for future shows as of this. But, I just got back from another Delfest Bluegrass festival in Cumberland Maryland. Lineup wasn't quite as strong this year as in past years, but highlights for me were Railroad Earth, Jacob Jolliff and I was really blown away by Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway. The California Honeydrops were different but very entertaining. We didn't stick around long enough to catch Tyler Childers playing with the Traveling McCoury's.

Yes I heard that today. And Tommy Chong too. I was shocked, that at 83 Chong is older than Dylan.

There are some very good independent content creators on YT if you are interested in certain subjects. These people invest in video, audio and editing equipment. They use graphics, charts, illustrations etc. They spend hours researching their topic. In some cases they get PhD Scholars as guests to come share their expertise. Some of these PhDs are very in-demand and charge the host for their time. If me and enough others throw $5 or $10 in every once and awhile, it'll help cover their cost, and if they make some profit afterwards, good for them.
Now I'm not going to pay to watch some idiot eat a ghost pepper and wash it down with a bottle of Fireball or eat a Tide Pod etc. 🙂
Here's an example of what I'd call a quality channel that I have supported. Just so happens he has Ukrainian ties and he tragically recently lost his infant son to SIDS. He has raised a lot of money in his sons name to donate to Ukrainian children.

After reading Nighthawk Chris diatribe and and some other comments, I just want to clarify the type of content I sometimes support. It's actually not much music related stuff. The content I support is well made content on topics of history, science and debunking apologetics and other nonsense. It's worth it to me to keep that stuff being produced.

Just curious if anyone here uses Patreon to either get paid or fund and artist or content creator that you like? Or even making a Paypal or other form of one-time donation to channels you like?
There are so many good Youtube channels I subscribe to, and would love to support for their work, but can't do them all. So there's one channe thatl I do a monthly Patreon membership donation and then some others I do a Superchat or some other donation here and there. I figure it's like tipping the musicians at the bar.
Am I the only one who does this?

Watching this years Triple Crown Races, I realize it's sometimes hard to tell if I'm reading horse names or band names.

In all seriousness, I would name the band differently depending on if you're planning to be a bar/cover band or an originals band trying to achieve actual success. If I was trying to actually be a full time band and make a living, I probably wouldn't pick some cutesy, flippant, or play-on-words name.

I'm always coming up with what I think are great band names. But I usually end up forgetting them.

Yeah I'm a huge Monty Python fan. And just about any of the British style humor. I see Red Dwarf was already mentioned. I stumbled across that in the 90s and used to watch it, but my wife didn't like it. 🙂
Although it's not exactly Monty Python or all British, A Fish Called Wanda is still one of my all time favorite comedies.

I never even knew My Attachments was a thing. So I found mine. Between 2010 and 2020 I have apparently uploaded 5 Attachments which uses 84% of my limit. And I also found no way to delete them.

Our band opened the season tonight at this golf course with a bar/restaurant/event hall that we've been playing at for the past 2 or 3 years. It's a great place with big dancing crowd and lots of regulars who come to see us. We've gotten a few private parties from playing here. Matter of fact we're playing this same place Sunday for a private party.
We debuted a few new songs (for us) and they came out mostly good. a few glitches but that's normal. One of the things we did for the first time tonight was play Keep On Rockin Me, but in the key of A, then the bass player went into the Alright Now breakdown and I played a note-for-note solo, and came out of the solo into the last chorus rather than a verse. Came out flawless.

It's cool that you stuck with this experiment. Aside from the coordination or dexterity challenges, do you find any differences in your creative ability while playing opposite handed?

There was such a thread, long ago - it was called "walk the walk and talk the talk" or something like that.
Many of us contibuted tracks of our music. I'm all for that, so.......
Best wishes to all.
I remember that thread. I used to like it.
It would be nice if there were some other ways to post our own stuff here. I mean, there's YouTube. Yeah. I don't have or even know how to use home studio equipment. So me, I'm stuck with live footage of my bands playing covers. Unless I set up a mic or camera in my home and just record myself. And lately almost all footage of my gigs is recorded on cell phones and goes to FaceBook and I never see any of it.
BTW. I listened to you Soundcloud track. Very good. I just cut it out in the Quote to save space.

It's kinda funny to me. I was not a big Bon Jovi or Ritchie Sambora fan. But always did like the song Runaway. The guitar playing is great in that song. It wasn't until recently I learned that it was actually Tim Pierce playing guitar on that track, not Ritchie. Makes sense now.
What's also funny is that earlier this evening I was part of a group text where one guy sent a link of the exact same video in the OP.

What movies did you like back in the day that you never see rebroadcast now? Not like example Back To The Future where it's constantly shown on some channel or the other. I know there are thousands but here's two I will start with.
The Hollywood Knights - along the same lines as Animal House but didn't seem to age as well
Night Shift with Michael Keaton and Henry Winkler - they stumbled into running a brothel out of a morgue

Glad to hear they're OK. It's so sad what is happening there.

Fretless guitar? Yeah, I want to make things unnecessarily difficult. (sarcasm)

Great review. I'll stick with my D'Addario's but always love reading your detailed, descriptive analysis.

Yeah. I disagree with the statement that this place is a sewer. I would be sad if they shut it down over a few disagreements. Overall people here are great and I've learned a lot over the years.

Many great memories of Green Sky Blue Grass and Billy Strings at Delfest. Plus Keller Williams did a whole set of Petty Grass in tribute to Tom.

When I thought they shut this place down, I was convinced it was this thread that was the final straw.

I can think of at least 3 reasons someone wouldn't want MJ performed at their wedding.
This was before any accusations started coming out. Apparently some people thought his songs were way overplayed.

Hey did anyone else ever book a gig where you had to promise not to play certain songs? I ran into that once - apparently every single band that showed up to play at this one bar played "Come As You Are" by Nirvana so they banned it.
In the 80s and early 90s I worked for a catering hall .We had house bands. I saw several times a wedding reception specified No Michael Jackson songs.

I missed Twisted Pine, but I'm pretty sure I caught them at a previous year. There are so many performers spread over 4 days and 3 stages. Add in the alcohol and weed and it gets hard to recall everyone you saw.
