  1. Looks like we're the only two left gigging here. Glad to hear you hear you played well and got a good reception. More money would be nice, but that's just the icing on the cake.
  2. Just came in from my 3rd gig in 3 nights. Tonight was a St Paddy's Day party at an up-scale restaurant/bar called Citron. Had a great crowd including a long-time local news anchor. At one point I think every person in the room was dancing. That was awesome! You'd think with everyone having smart phones, there'd be lots of pictures. But everyone loads them right to Facebook and I never see any. Oh well. Here's the sets from Friday and Saturday. Two different bands. Thursday was acoustic and we just wing that one.
  3. Been home about 30 minutes from our gig tonight. Way up above Baltimore in Timonium. A place called Michael's. 4. It's 3:20am here. Just finishing some RoFo chicken and western fries, since the only other thing I ate all day was a banana. Finished up our gig at 1:00am and was driving home by 2:00. Great gig, but my ears are ringing. We had to hire a sound guy, who was really good, but damn were we loud! Great crowd. Lots of dancers. We brought a singer from another band up to sing a song in the third set. It was "Double Vision". Went great. He had a bunch of friends there and it was appreciated. A good time had by all. I played acoustic gigs on Thursday and Friday too. My wife thinks I'm burning the candle at both ends, doing this and working a full time job trough the week. But I say I can handle it.
  5. It's 2:30 here. Just got back from our first show playing with a the new bass player. It was at one of our favorite places to play. A local bar called Alibi's. Huge crowd. Not sure if they all came specifically to see us or if we just lucked out. My wife turned around and went home because she couldn't find parking. Luckily the place is less than 10 minutes from our house. Since our old bass player Mike was also our sound guy, and had most of PA, we had to hire a friend of the band to run sound and bring his stuff. Mike's widow actually showed up to the gig, which was nice. I think the band will end up purchasing most of the PA from her. Anyway, sound was great and we had an awesome night. Did a little tribute to Mike and introduced Scott as the new player. In all the commotion, I don't think I got any pictures. Edit. I tried to paste Set List but format was all funky,
  6. Got in about 1am from an acoustic gig. It was our first time playing in a local chain called Ram's Head. This is the smallest one, called Dockside. We brought out about 15 people, but the other crowd wasn't huge. Good show though and the manager liked us and booked us a few more time. My partner, Steve locked his keys in the car as we were packing up. Luckily he has AAA and only had to wait about an hour for someone to break in for him. Also played Friday night with another band. Great show with big crowd and lots of hot dancing girls. Now I'm off to rehears with yet another band with a new bass player, since you all heard what happened to our old bass player. First gig with new guy this coming Saturday.
  7. Jeez. Sorry to hear about that sh!t show. I hope you guys get a good replacement and carry on. Best of luck.
  8. I looked through your resume the other night, but now it must be deleted. It was very interesting and had some great photos. Thanks

  9. Another acoustic gig tonight. Crowd wasn't huge, but they were all cool and into the music. Got some Jagermeister shots sent our way. I was happy with how we played tonight, even if the crowd wasn't as big as I would have liked.
  10. Got in from our last acoustic gig of the year at our favorite place, Crabtowne. Place was packed and the staff was hustling to keep up. Overall a great night, even though it's cold as balls.
  11. I'm not sure why I started this, but I'v been working on coming up with my own little instrumental solo version of "Wichita Lineman".
  12. Jeez. It's been a little while since I checked in here, and I had to search for this thread. Just got in from playing a bar in this skeezy a$$ area of South Baltimore. Myself, the bass player and keyboards player all played here in our old band back in 2009. not much has changed. Just loading in, had to deal with various whack jobs and opioid addicts. Can't leave anything unattended or it will be stolen in seconds. Bar is a dive, but nice little crowd, and the regulars and staff are actually really cool. Overall, the night was a lot better than I expected. We were scheduled until 1am, but the crowd that was still there kept asking us to play a little more, so we played a few songs until about 1:15. No photos or set list, but it was our usual set with "Please come Home For Christmas" thrown in and some other weird version of "Winter Wonderland" set to the music of "Misty Mountain Hop".
  13. Played a benefit tonight at one of our favorite places, Crabtowne. They asked us about a month ago if we would consider donating our time and providing music and PA at a fund raising event to benefit an employee there who has cancer. We couldn't say no. The place is not only literally a family owned business, but all the employees there are like family to one another and many of the regular customers too. They've always been very good to us when we go there for lunch or play acoustic music at least one Thursday a month. There was food, the bar sold drinks at Happy Hour prices, and there were raffles. Plus the arcade/pinball room was open. All proceeds, including bar tenders and servers tips, went to the young lady Suzie who is fighting cancer. We were honored to be asked to play. It was a great night and over $4000 was raised to help her with her medical expenses. I got some photos, but unfortunately very few turned out good enough to post. Here's one from across the room, and one closer up. Man I need a haircut.
  14. I love it, especially for big outdoor shows where I can turn it up a bit. At 85 lbs I'm starting to wonder if it's worth all the effort to lug around though.
  15. 3AM and just getting home. Played the same place we did last month with same results. Great gig but not much crowd. I think most of Pasadena was down near Karloff's area for Bike Week in Ocean City. Today was our keyboard player's Birthday. I brought a bottle of Scotch, cause that's what he likes. Have a little left. Gonna finish off this bottle and hit the bed. Playing a private party Saturday ( today) with my other band.
  16. Exactly! And "Feels Like The First Time' is awful in F.
  17. Got in late after Saturday's airline reunion gig, and had to be up early today to play one set at the Reisterstown Festival with a different band. It was a beautiful day today, and we were introduced by local radio legend Chris Emry. The sound check went great and everything looked promising. Then when we played and our stage sound was all messed up and we made about a thousand mistakes. But no one seemed to noticed other than us. I would have posted earlier but after the gig we all went back to one of the guys house to watch the Ravens game and hang out. Again, I'm sure there were a lot of good pics taken, but I only have a few of our stage and the ever popular set list. P.S. notice how our keyboard played drops a bunch of the Keys down, and it always screws up my guitar playing!
  18. Played a strange acoustic gig tonight and just got home. We were filling in for a friend of mine at a place we've never played before. Most of the crowd was talking to each other or watching Os get shut-out on TV. But as soon as we took a break or when we were breaking down, someone would approach us and say how much they liked us. Anyway, we got a few more bookings out of it. Gonna have a little rye now and relax for the rest of the night. Have another big gig tomorrow night.
  19. Played a great show at a place called Citron tonight. A very upscale place on scenic Quarry Lake. Awesome night !
  20. I'll be playing with various bands/lineups this week on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Should I post after each one? Oh, and a rehearsal on Wednesday. My wife is about done with this stuff.
  21. Came in from another acoustic gig at good ole' Crabtowne USA. Funny thing about tonight. Right as we were about to start playing, this young girl walks up with a guitar case in her hand, asking if she can see our list and where the sign-up sheet is. After some puzzled questions on both our parts, it turned out she misread the website and thought it was Open Mic night. Well we felt so bad for her and she seemed like a nice girl, so we said stick around and play some stuff on our break. She did 3 originals which were all good and got a good reaction from the crowd. We all exchanged some info and plan to do some collaboration, or support each other down the road. Funny how things work out.
