  6. I love Cheating at Solitaire and have only recently got serious into Sex Love and Rock and Roll. Love the song winners and losers........"We're Good and We're Evil, Which one will I be today?" NHTom
  7. I know what you mean about the brown cases with pink lining..........lol. Just something about them that always makes me want to see what's in them. Kind of a "hmmm....what ya got there?" thing. I was thrilled when I recently got my 97 Studio Gem (see above) and they agreed to "throw in a hard case". I figured it was going to be something cheesy, but it was a brown Gibson USA one. NHTom
  8. Not looking to argue here, but I feel the need to respectfully disagree about the type of wood NOT making a difference in sound........ I take that to mean I could pull all the hardware and electronics out of a Mahogany Les Paul and put them in a plywood bodied guitar and get the same sound? Nope, not going to believe that. I agree that there are a LOT of myths out there concerning tone. I personally don't know what to think about finishes, so I won't comment either way. NHTom
  9. One of the most under rated band of the 80's is on tap tonight.......... Junkyard My first, last, and only bar room brawl was at their show at the Living Room in Providence RI back in the day.......quickly figured out that was NOT my game......lol. Great band.....a bit of 80's metal mixed with an edge of southern rock. NHTom
  10. thanks wildrose I wish we lived closer.....mine has the blank truss rod cover and I want to put it back to the "studio" one it came with.........we could have just traded and save each other some money.....lol. NHTom
  11. My 97 Les Paul Studio Gem series in Amethyst. (FINALLY!) Has been modded with a 57 humbucker in the bridge. NHTom
  12. I wish Gibson would look at the pictures of this guitar and then compare to all the plain looking ones in the current catalogs....... Beautiful looking, very classy, I know the "relic" "worn" stuff is the trend now, but I'd grab one of these in a hearbeat. NHTom
  13. I was recently looking at a 1993 Limited Edition Les Paul Mahogony. Has P90s and is pretty cool. I was wondering if anyone knew much about them and is the sound different than "normal" with P90 NHTom
  14. VERY COOL!!! I believe these were part of the Designer Series from the mid 80's. I have one of the explorers from this series (in my avatar), and would give up a first born for one of the union jack explorers!! NHTom
  15. Wow, very cool........thats a LOT of wiring in a small cavity! NHTom
  16. Cool, I really appreciate all the information. I understand why they had the recording label...........seems like with all those tone options, they would be great for a session player who has to cover a ton of styles and sounds. Beautiful guitars, Thanks again, NHTom
  17. Could someone in the know explain these to a rookie? What was the intent, what are all the controls, etc? very interesting guitars, would love to learn more about them. NHTom
