  1. I do see a lot of Demos being offered at Sweetwater.. Is this the one the OP is looking at? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/J45StWN--gibson-acoustic-j-45-studio-walnut-acoustic-electric-guitar-satin-natural?cond=J45StWNd2 Or this one? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/J45StWN--gibson-acoustic-j-45-studio-walnut-acoustic-electric-guitar-satin-natural
  2. I live in Southern California…. And anything goes here…..
  3. Nothing wrong with a Demo if it isn’t damaged,is sold as new & comes with Factory Warranty.. In my experience many are dinged, scratched & have some kind of damage.. Not all but some.. Like I said if it was that magic I can’t live without it Guitar, a couple dings & scratches wouldn’t matter, I’d buy it..
  4. If it’s been hanging around that usually means it’s been played by who knows how many guys? I consider them Demos. I would want more than 20% off.. Unless it was so magical I couldn’t live without it. Otherwise I’d want one brand new in the wrapper….
  5. Again, this is not a big deal.. $500.00 is about a 20% discount.. Which can be negotiated any day of the week on most new Guitars.. Why is this so surprising?
  6. Recently Fender made a Ltd Production Custom Shop Rocky Strat. I think it was limited to 100 Guitars.. They sold for $25,000.00.. They sold out in a day. There’s no shortage of people with Money!
  7. Walnut is good but not a hot mover as far as J-45’s go… $500.00 off is roughly a 20% discount which is something you can negotiate on just about any New Guitar every day of the week.. Make sure it’s not a Demo.. If it is ask for more off…
  8. Don’t it always seem to go.. You don’t know what you got til it’s gone…. If you have a great Guitar keep it.. If you got a crap Guitar sell it & replace it with another great Guitar.. IMO you need something that adds a sound you don’t already have.. Like a Casino or an ES-335…
  9. Very nice… And great sounding old Epi!
  10. You’ve got some nice Guitars.. I wouldn’t get rid of any of them. I’d add a Hollow body like a Casino & a Semi hollow body like an ES-335.. Then you’d have 6! I agree about selling off Guitars only to regret it.. Then chasing after that sound you let go & never finding it… Or in my case they’ve become so expensive I can’t afford one.. Mine was a mint condition Sunburst 1959 Gibson ES-345 with original 1959 PAF Humbuckers.. It was the best sounding Guitar I’ve ever heard.. As far as the SG I’d try to figure out what I don’t like about the Guitar.. Usually it’s the Pickups.. There are so many great Boutique Builders, Fralin, Duncan, Lollar, Thro-Bak etc.. That’s a relatively inexpensive upgrade to a Guitar that can turn a ho hum Guitar into a Killer Sound Machine! Good luck on your quest…
  11. Every time I hear "It's a great Guitar & sounds great for the money" I automatically doubt that it's a great Guitar.. I've played a lot of Epiphone Acoustics & have to say I haven't been overly thrilled with very many.. Maybe they need new Strings, better Set ups etc. but when I go to buy a Guitar I expect it to sound & play good now... Regardless of Price.. I have not tried one but would love to try some Korean Epi Acoustics.. Korea is building some very nice Guitars...
  12. 4 isn’t overkill if you talk to guys here with 20, 30, 40 or more… What’s right for you is all that matters. Life is short.. We should be happy.. As long as it isn’t hurting anyone.. Another Guitar might get you the Sound you’ve been seeking.. If it does, that’s a good thing..
  13. That looks sweet! Thought it was an Elvis Dove but it’s not.. What model?
  14. Yes… 2 of the best Guitars I’ve ever heard or played… 1. A mint Sunburst 1959 Gibson ES-345 Stereo with Original PAF’s. 2. A mid 1950’s Gibson Les Paul Jr..
  15. Good question.. While they’re all made of Wood there are lots of things that go in to making a Guitar.. While a tree might be a hundred years old or more after the wood is cut some manufacturers allow the wood to age. Or they use different techniques to artificially age the wood to improve tone. The quality of the Wood & other Materials used.. Like Hide Glue or Super glue. What kind of inner structure.. What kind of Bracing inside? What kind of Tuners, Nut, Saddle, Bridge, Pins, Strings etc. What kind of Electronics? How well was it Set up? I believe there are still a couple USA Epiphone Acoustics available that are high quality Guitars…
  16. Gene is known for the first Martin D-45 but how about this one?
  17. If it wasn't recorded to a Click Track it will most likely drift.. Did you record a 4 count at the beginning you can provide so anybody playing along knows when to start playing? That would be helpful if provided with or without a Click Track...
  18. It is a defect & should be covered under Warranty.. Not sure how it’s handled in AUS though? You should contact Gibson.. Good luck..
  19. That’s a great way to do it.. But, man, the recording rabbit hole is the ultimate deep dive… Be careful.. Some of us forgot that playing is the most important part.. Not spending more time Recording & Mixing & re-recording & re-mixing, rinse & repeat until you’re spending 80% of your time re-recording and re-mixing & not playing…. Unless, your goal is to be an Engineer… 1. The Gear & performance is the most important part.. 2. Mics, Pre Amps, their positioning & levels. Isolating Instruments & Singers. Lowest background noise possible.. 3. The Recording itself. 4. Mix 5. Master
  20. I did find a great deal for a new Guild D-40E “USA Made In California” & pulled the trigger.. After negotiating the $1999.00 MAP price it was $1600.00 + Tax.. It is a great Guitar.. Spruce Top with Mahogany back & sides. LR Baggs Anthem Electronics.. Sunburst Satin finish.. Hard Case with built in Humidifier. Flawless. Plays & sounds great.. Excellent Guitar! Although, Guild has discontinued it.. They’ve changed the name to just D-40, removed the LR Baggs & upped the price?
  21. Remember my Thread a few months ago regarding best Acoustic for $2000.00? I’m still looking… Meanwhile I stumbled onto this.. It’s only $25,000.00…
  22. Ok.. They're in Google Drive.. How do I post it here? The Zip WAV File is 46MB....
  23. Is there a way post a Zip WAV File to This Forum without having to make a YouTube?
