My eldest Grandson was a Straight A student from K thru 12. He attended Texas Tech & obtained his Engineering Degree & now works for a large Engineering firm in Dallas. My next eldest Grandaughter was also a straight A student & took AP classes in High School as Colleges are very difficult to get into today.. She was a member of the National Honors Society & President of her Schools Honors Society. She was a 4 year Varsity Letterman in Tennis & Water Polo. She was Captain of both teams. They were CIF Champions all 4 years. She is attending Webers Honors College in San Diego. She is studying to be an Engineer.. She has been approached by USC & has filled out her application for transfer in the fall. My next eldest Grandson is Junior in High School & is also a Straight A student since Kindergarten.. He is a member of the National Honors Society. He is the only student in his School to ever be allowed to take 4 AP classes a year.. He is on the Soccer & Water Polo team.. He plans to attend USC & study Engineering as well. My 3 other younger Grandkids are also straight A students. All are College bound.. All will be a huge asset to our Country…

The Pre-Wired Electronis kit arrived today.. I'm hoping to have the P-90's by mid-week & take it to my Luthier & have the finshed Guitar by the weekend..

Being a Vietnam Vet really didn't help my Grades in College.. If anything it was the exact opposite..

I started a Thread recently about these very Guitar! I dig the Byrdland!!! But, $11,947 for a Guitar with 57 Classics??? My ES-335 has 57 Classics.. I like them ok.. But, they don't blow me away.. I never should have sold my 1959 ES345 Stereo with original 59 PAF's.. I would think an $11,947 Byrdland, which is truly beautiful by the way, would have the new 59 PAF's...

One of my friends bought a new ES339.. It wouldn’t stay in tune either.. It was such a frustrating Guitar he returned it. It may have been something as simple as needing the Nut properly addressed.. Then use some Graphite in the Nut slots on String changes..

I like that Byrdland! But, why 57 Classics? Why not the new ‘59 PAF’s if they’re as accurate as they say they are.. 57’s are pretty good but nothing like real ‘59 PAF’s…. Who cares if there not Year correct as long as they sound amazing..

Yesterday was Sunny & apox 70 degrees here in Palm Springs. Ca. It was Cold & Snowing in Nashville.. I called Gibson & asked if it was a good idea to send my J-160E with the Split to them right now.. Their Service Rep said, it probably isn't a good idea.. He said, to keep the RMA they gave me & call them when I'm ready to send it.. So, as much as I want to get this done I'm going to wait til Spring..

I was filled with hate & anger as a kid when my Dad left us.. For years.. It took a long time but my Dad & I became close in his later years.. I took care of him til he passed.. I let go of my hate & anger.. I don't hate anyone... It's a Cancer that hurts you more than anyone else..

I had to pass on going again this year as I have a Surgery in a couple days I have to prep for. I dis like going. Where else can you see & test drive every Guitar from every Company under one roof? And see friends from all over the Country… This year I understand Gibson, Fender, Rickenbacker & Marshall won’t be attending NAMM this year… Why go Gibson & Fender have so many variations of the same Guitar they should release a memo of which ones they’re retiring…

For me this Casino was free. I wouldn’t buy one.. I have never liked the Chinese P90’s.. Fingernails on a Chalkboard to my ears.. The ones on this Casino are no different. Since it’s free & it’s a Gift, that I’ll keep until it ends up going back to them, I want to at least make it sound good.. I think Gibson makes the best sounding P90’s IMO.. Gretsch Terada uses Fralin P90’s.. The original Fano’s used Fralin P90’s as well.. I’ve played Fano’s & Gretsch with Fralin P90’s & IMO sound as good as Gibson USA P90’s.. That said, each of my 3 Casinos with Gibson USA P90’s, including the USA, sound slightly different.. In a good way.. Gibson has their Nickel Dogear Covers made by Advanced Plating in Pa. Fralin also uses the exact same Covers made by the same Co.. I ordered the Pre-Wired Electronics kit today.. I hadn’t thought about Knobs.. I may have to order a Set.. I’m looking forward to hearing how it will sound.. Lucky

The price not including the Jack un-assembled is, 4 Pots-500k Split Shaft (3/8" Shaft) $28.00 3-Way Toggle(short) $25.00 2 Tone Caps-0.022MFD Paper & Oil $24.00 Plus whatever the Jack costs.. Then the labor to solder it all together.. I think a complete ready to install Pre-Wired Electronics kit & P90’s with Nickel Covers already attached will reduce labor cost..

Back in the days of Corporal Punishment. In 6th Grade, my Teacher, Mr. Stammerjohn told me to stay after Class while all the kids were at recess.. He was a terrible Teacher & Human Being.. He got mad at me for being a little bit of a smart *** & said, I’m gonna kick your little ***.. He chased me around the classroom & caught up to me & kicked me in my lower back & laid me out on the floor.. Then he said, if you tell anyone I’ll give you worse.. Shortly thereafter we moved.. I never told, until now..

I’m good, I’ve got other Guitars.. Just got back from playing out of town actually.. Not too far.. Newport Beach is only a couple hours from Palm Springs…. I had a great time playing with my other Band, “The Fab-Tones”…. We’ve got plenty of Songs & we’re ready to go…

Don’t they use Planes for part of the Shipping to Bozeman? Maybe not since it’s much closer than Nashville. I guess I should Call them & ask…

I got confirmation to send it to Gibson & an RMA for Shipping.. I live in Palm Springs, Ca. & it’s late January. Bozeman is in the middle of a very cold Winter. I’m wondering if sending it right now might create more issues?

Congrats on getting the one you set out to get.. I hear you… I’ve been looking for another Acoustic to fill the space between my 48 year old D-35 & my 21 year old J-160E.. Looking for the one that has an equally great beautiful sound but unlike both of those Guitars.. It’s not easy to do…. I bought a Guild D-40E & a Martin HD-28E but both were too similar to my Martin & both went back.. I’ve tried a lot of different Guitars but nothing yet.. Still looking.. Good luck on your Quest…..
