Not scraped properly and he's left stain on it.
Okay okay, I have to argue this one! How do you know it was a "he" that left the stain on the binding, hmmm?

If it's just a pickup issue, I would have no problem taking it to a local guitar shop. Replacement pickups for that year should be easy to come by.

A difference I see between this guitar and an ES275 is the bottom of the fretboard. Maybe a special run...?

agree.. my money is on a ES275
Still not quite the same, but I'm willing to bet its in that series.

Look at the head stock. I don't think this is a L series guitar. I may be and ES series.

I know a lot of people are reluctant to do this, why I do not know. I suggest calling Gibson Customer Service with the serial number and they can tell you exactly what model that guitar is and be able to answer a few other questions you may have. The call is toll free.

Now, this post is very close to a NGD post, in which case pictures would be mandatory.
We heard you the fist time or is this just the echo from your basement?

Are you sure the gold hasn't just worn off. It's not uncommon for that to happen.

Funny, the OP doesn't get into specifics, just "milling/finishing issues" Just a bit of troll work to stir up the pot? If not, do as BBP stated and send it back. Get a refund and buy a PRS.

Funny how Rabs finds this obscure videos. I'm waiting for one with Jimmy Page clipping his toenails!

Man that is a shame. If you can't fix it yourself as describe by Yorgie, it would be in your best interest financially to find another guitar. Good luck!

Well, as yesterday was the 9th anniversary of the thread and the OP hasn't been seen here at all for 7 years I doubt he's still waiting for answers.
Who knows? By now it might possibly have 'weather-checked' of its own accord had he left well alone...
Pip.
Just think, he's been waiting for Ryu's input all this time. Now he can rest... Yes Virginia there is a...

I am surprised to see that it does not come with a hard-shell case. To me, anything "Standard" should come with a hard-shell case. S
Sounds to me that the seller did bit of a bogart!! If you ever want to sell it, it will effect the transaction.
However, our new friend couldn't give two shitz about the case and lets celebrate the the new SG! Yes, Yes, and Yes we need to see some pics of this honey!!!

Sorry Pip, I have to admit that was funny.
Fred posting some pics would really help your cause, perhaps we can make some suggestions.
Otherwise you're starting to look like one of the trolls that comes in here often using different profiles stirring up the pot and using a lot of caps and calling people childish names. I wonder if this is what Pip is smelling. I'm getting a whiff of a Wild Bill with a bad case of the Mad Clap!
