Dg77
Recently I started playing a lot of songs tuned to e flat....AIC for example. I'm wondering if there are any long term effects of leaving the guitar tuned to e flat. I didn't have to do any set up, it plays beautifully in standard and e flat. I do play a lot in standard as well, so I Need to be able to go back and forth. But if I out it away tuned down, is it causing any issue? Like neck or truss rod issues? charlie brown
My only suggestion, would be to (possibly) change string guages, to one step heavier, IF you liked the feel/tension, at Standard tuning, with your current strings. I play in Eb, with the band I'm with...but, we play so seldom, that I just "man up," and put up with the "floppy" strings, for the night, and retune to E, when I get home. So...??? IF, it was going to be a permanent situation, and lots of playing/paying gigs, I would definitely change to 1 step heavier strings. 10's to 11's, in my case. You might try the gauage change? See if it helps, or hinders? Just a suggestion/thought. CB

Someday when I have a second lp, I will definitely set it up with .11s and keep it tuned down perm, and the other in standard.

Yeah, I guess I like a little "friction" or "resistance" in the feel of my strings. So, when I tune down, that becomes (slightly) more of an issue, with me. No big deal, though. Just a matter of preference. CB
