ksdaddy
This is the rout in the mystery oddball bass I picked up. It's very slightly smaller than a standard humbucker rout. I'm trying to figure out what might have been originally installed. The bass was made in 1981 so it would have to be a pickup that was available then. This is, of course assuming the builder used a normal everyday available pickup was used. It has Grover tuners and a Badass bridge, so I'll guess the pickup was something attainable. I've researched some. I know a Dimarzio Model One is wrong, as is a Rick, and I can't find a Bartolini to fit either. This pickup definitely had a mounting ring and two height adjustment screws. Anyone have a guess or can point me in a direction? Short of me thumbing through my old Guitar Players from c.1980, who made aftermarket pickups then?
