nosbig
HI all, Ive got an SG Special that I bought new in `72. I swapped out the trem and bridge for a Schaller wrap around type but now I want to restore it back to the short trem and bridge.I bought an aftermarket type bridge but I cant get the intonation right? its too sharp? Its suppose to have the compensated lightning bolt but not sure if its right? I would like to fit a roller bridge but the stud spacings are wrong. Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved. Cheers, Terry (UK)

Cheers, Terry (UK) Does it have adjustment screws, on each side of the bridge (on the back edge)? If so, you can ajust the overall "slant" somewhat, that way. If not...get a Gibson bridge... they DO have those adjustment screws. Good Luck! CB

CB Hi CB, Yes, this has got adjustment screws but I think the problem is the actual casting? Its gone as far back as it can without falling off the studs and its still sharp? As you say, maybe I may have to get a Gibson bridge? Cheers, Terry
Big Bill
Check you neck relief, it might need to be adjusted.
old mark
On some of my Gibsons, I replaced the factory bridge with a Gotoh...a bit wider, more adjustment , no intonation problems and it is a sturdier and more solid unit.
