mydeadblues Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I just came across this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Epiphone-Riviera-Electric-Guitar-aquamarine-white-/161272368486?pt=Guitar&hash=item258c950d66 I've never seen or heard of a Riviera in that color. Actually, I don't think I've seen any Epiphone with that finish. Anyone ever see this finish before?
Thomse Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 http://epiphonewiki....Riviera_Reissue I don't think thats the same color .

cunningham26 Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I think when epi opened up the peerless factory, there were some weird guitars that made it through the QC, this being one. I love that finish so, so much. I have a Sheraton that has the body of a peerless casino (in finish alone, it's still semi-hollow), so I think there was still a learning curve back in 96
indiekiduk Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Yeh those 1994-1998 full size humbucker Riviera reissues came in some shocking colours. At least it's not the gold flake
mydeadblues Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 I've had quite a few of the peerless Rivieras. I have a cherry and a sunburst right now but I've owned pretty much every color-natural, metallic black, silver sparkle, turquoise, burgundy mist. This one is not the turquoise finish as mentioned before. I guess the Peerless factory just had a very small batch of some odd colors.
cunningham26 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Peerless was not 'opened' by Epiphone..... http://www.peerlessguitars.com.au/about.html Right, I meant "opened up to" or "expanded into", did not mean to infer that Peerless was an Epi venture
